There were about a half dozen of us down there last night so somebody probably got some. I didn't go anywhere near the backstretch though, it was too squirly back there last night for me.
The track held up well considering the conditions and they had a good crowd as well. There were so many sponsors lined up as well as a bunch of popular drivers that probably wouldn't have been able to return for the rain date. Jon and the Jackson Speedway did a great job with the hand they were dealt. We could second guess them but if I was in their shoes I'd have done the same thing and gone ahead with the show.
To add insult to injury it's still windy and colder than a well digger's *ss as I type this on Saturday morning. Cedar Lake is supposed to host their annual school bus night where busses representing area schools compete in an exhibition race. With all the graduations, proms, etc, this is a one shot deal where they don't have a rain date and they've got a huge crowd from the schools coming out to the track. Consequently, it's going to be another cold night. I'm seeing where some of the other tracks have already cancelled so there's probably going to be extra cars onhand. Brrrrrrr!!!!!! Here we go again!
Chris, that was a good run thru the B and then coming up as far as you did in the A.
I was standing along the back stretch and it was amazing watching the cars pick up
their right front wheel as high as they were going (some over a foot). Good Job, looks like you learned
something about that motor last night.
Man that was a nasty wind blowing into the grandstand last night. Great car count considering the iffy weather and darn near a full crowd of fans even with the hurricane/windchill conditions. Track held up well for the first night of racing there and for how windy it was. I think alot of drivers were skeptical of passing down the backstretch with that wicked wind sending there cars all over the place. McCarl showed why he is a top 10 WoO driver and drove away from the field after the red. I thought Dover maybe had something in lapped traffic, but it didnt happen. Nice run by Winters and also by Wayne Johnson and Chris Graf coming from the B's to finish top 10.
Great quality field of drivers, they moved the program through about as quick as they could, and the flagging was actually decent for once at Jackson.
