Allen Crawford also did some work on an Indy car of Gordon Johncocks restored to 80's form, that car went through a Barret-Jackson auction. Good enough for the girls I go out with.

This is another car looking to come in if the driveline issues are fixed. Say hello to the Granddaddy of the t-top supermodified, this is a Track Roadster. This particular car was built to the last detail in the mold of the track roadsters on the West Coast in the late 40's to mid 50's. Norm Joyal runs this car at tracks from between here and all the way out to Cali when time allows.

There is more to come, so stay tuned! uh-oh, I'm sounding like an info-mercial now, forgive me.
SWAP MEET- Got any old cars or parts you need to sell? George is wanting to get a swap meet going on the grounds up the hill from the track. I have been going to swap meets for 30 years now and I KNOW FOR A FACT there is room for a good swap meet in Ada. We're in a recession, not a depression. If it's worth owning, it's worth buying to someone.
THE SPACES ARE FREE, FIRST YEAR ONLY. If you know George, you know he is a fan just like the rest of us and he wants to see what we can do with this show. He knows going in that he isn't going to make a decent profit early, but he wants this kind of show at his track for sure. Keep in mind that since he is minding his own store, he isn't able to go to the other places we get to so easy.

This whole push is getting people to talking about what they know, where the old cars went and so forth. The networking is amazing.
This car was discovered, frame only, in a collection this past week. The Hillenburg 55. Confirmation is coming, but it looks 99%. Pictures are from the Rusty Manning collection.
It'll be a long term project to bring it back.

The buzz is stirring up the dust and things are falling out of the woodworks. We keep going, and these neat old cars will get built.
To me, the cage/frame is THE CAR. It could even be just the cage. So, when you find the right cage/frame, you have found the foundation for which the car resides, thus you have a start for restoring that particular car if you so choose.
If this is not a Jackie Howerton frame, then it is a very nice copy. Found in the last 3 days. Any ideas?

This is also of the same design. Driven by Terry Doss in the late 70's
It is a Howerton, and it is being restored in NE OK

Seriously digging the Hillenburg supers. Racer Ray was a favorite of mine when I was young. Some of the most beautiful cars of the period.

We're waiting for actual confirmation. Seems about all that's left these days is the frame of one, maybe two. But it's a start.

We're struggling on our car count for the old supers, but we're gonna be there regardless. Some owners are setting back to see how this all goes, some cars are still being worked on and are behind schedule looking to come out in the future.
Let's be happy with what we get, it's the first show of its kind in this area, and us old geezers are happy we have the chance. Keep in mind most of us haven't spent a lot of time in the seat and these cars are a whole lot harder to find parts and machining for now than when they were new in some respects.
There are also some cars that want to show up that haven't contacted me, but I'm hearing it from the backchannels, could be a nice surprise or two.
I'll look in tomorrow.

Turns out they could have broke me in Vegas on my pick. However word has it there are 2 more cars out there that may be the trick. So, still there is a quiet hunt going on for the Hillenberg 55's.
