I do much appreciate track announcer from Meeker posting what he done last year, i do hope the does the same this year.
What OKCfan posted about I-44 from last night is what I would really like at least one person from each track to post as a recap of the nights racing action. I can't be at each track on the same night and when NCRA kicks into full gear, I will be in Nebraska and want to catch up on what went on down here.
Cody, thank you and others, please represent your track "IN A POSITIVE WAY" and post recaps on the nights events.
Also, the quick results from Ada Friday night was perfect as well.
Thank you tidbiters

your welcome David. although we owe you much more thanks for all the results/recaps you have been doing for years. Not sure I am anyone to take a lesson from - it just would be nice to see results from all the statewide racing. And we see quite a bit now and thats great. Brill, Ardmore, West Siloam and Ada all put results on weekly for the most part - and I think we could see Elk City and Enid do it more often. What has always got me was the complete lack of results from Lawton. There are a ton of folks from there that frequent this forum, but rarely any results. I hope that changes this year. I'll post SFS results throughout the year most likely - since I already need them to score the Fantasy League. I'll post results to most of the saturday shows I go to as well.
As far as reppin a track positively - I am reminded of what my grandfather once said years ago
"The worst race I ever saw was wonderful"

Just because it turned you into a little crying schoolgirl, Larry, doesn't mean it would everybody else.

What I guess I really cant believe and what makes me mad is that some people who have never drove or even had to wash or maintain a racecar could talk crap about a guy who does and stood up for what is right against what was said by the owner/promoter.

I will try and do that on Mondays for Enid when it comes out in the paper. And the driver of the week when it comes out later in the week.

Whta does this have to do with this thread I guess you are angry at someone or some thing ... I do not ppersonally race but waced with step brothers racing , uncles racing and I guess in essence I was 2 when I remember and have seen pictures of when I was a in pits and garages all night but I personally think that spectators also see things you as drivers cannot see in the car unless your head spins in circles in the car while driving Not trying to be offensive but lets not take offense but oh well Sorry if I upset you and yeah I do not know the whole story but

OKC Fan
I'm usually at LS if I'm in town. You can't beat Lawton for white knuckle racing. Oh I'm sure others will disagree, it's just my opinion.
If you and David would like LS results to be reported on this forum, might I suggest the reporter be extended the courtesy of having his racing analysis treated respectfully? Therefore we could all benefit from having news and who won when we can't be there ourselves.
By the way......."I can't believe I'm going to say this"........but.......I understand completely what " ON THE GAS" is saying !!!!!!!!!!!.......whew!!
It's the point of view guys. One is from choking down dust, smoke, and alcohol fumes while trying to see through an old blurred visor without any tearoffs. The other is from choking down dry hotdog buns and stale popcorn with cold beer while peering at the show from high atop the grandstands.

Fight to win on the Track, not in the parking lot! I
just love the " Ur # 1. wave " from fellow racers as
we head home to our other lives !

thats a very reasonable and respectful opinion. I think you make a great point about the "Point of View". I agree with that completely......
And that is kind of the problem. I have always thought that way/agreed with that - most I know have as well. I rarely see anyone who thinks the opposite of that. In fact the only person I know who has - was one of Neighbor's biggest fans (go figure). It's just common sense. And it pertains to being a fan of any sport. It's a great point that should never have been made.....because Larry's argument is not really an argument, in fact, it is not really a complete thought either. Botom Line - I';ve never said or thought anything to an effect that I could drive a racecar. I have a lot of appreciation for those who do - no matter how fast they are. I've always thought this - as well as most I have EVER known at the track. I understand you agreeing with Mike, I would too, the only problem is - there is absolutely no argument that even exists when it comes to this.
As fans, it's always good to have some objectivity and sensitivity to everything. But at the same time, it doesn;t mean they should not have a right to an opinion. I think when a fan buys a ticket - they buy a piece of mind as well. After that its perspective and common sense. Especially common sense. Of course we in the stands can see something and think wow that was a bad idea. But most all of us are sensible and reasonable about it. We don't say that in a "we could do it better" way - or even in a know-it-all way either. Fans are not making the quick second decisions, choosing lines, quick reactions - we aint behind the wheel. Everything we see is hindsight. I just think this is a completely shit issue - and a polarizing issue as well. Because even as far back as 3-4 years ago - I just never see or hear anything that provokes anything to make this an issue. The entire argument Larry makes (more like beligerant ramblings) is a "red herring". I'll stop that there.....
In the end fans should appreciate all the drivers puttin on the show (and track workers as well) - and drivers should appreciate the fans for comin out. If fans are not telling driver's how to drive -driver's should not be telling fans how to be a fan.
As far as the results. Again I would agree. I post results a lot. As does David, and P Nut, The_Announcer, etc. But I can't recall anyone ever making negative comments towards anyone posting results.
I always liked Lawton. Not so much after they messed with the track - but I hear a lot of good things about changes they made over the off season. And some of the video Thriller put up looked really good. I look forward to comin down there when the ASCS Sooner Region goes down there - I miss them Lawton cheeseburgers too! lol. I guess thats why I still have not tried the famous Wayne's Drive-In - I am always saving room for them track cheeseburgers lol.

Hey, the bottom line here is this forum I believe was started so that Fans and Racers could have a place to communicate with each other. Hence the "tag line" under David Smith Jr.'s Oklahoma Tidbits logo " THE PLACE WHERE FANS AND RACERS MEET!"
Even though OKCFan has never/or was never afforded the opportunity to drive a race car does not by any-means mean he is not a racer at heart. He with little help has made the SFS Fantasy League an extremely popular item with both Fans and Racers involved across the State of Oklahoma. This can only be a good thing for our sport.
I know this may sound a bit off record for me since I too have dogged OKCFan in the past, but I was only trying to keep the boy on his toes. lol And I will dog him again tomorrow if he needs it.
Thanks Cody for your support as a FAN and a Racer at heart.
