The Rock That Open Wheel Racing Stands On
I don't know much, but I know this. In this wrecked economy, you can
lose your job, you can lose your house and you can lose your racetrack.
But as Mark Twain wrote one hundred and twelve years ago, the report of
open wheel racing's death is greatly exaggerated. Sprint Car Hall of
Fame promoter Jim Naylor has doubled down on the future. He has
deconstructed his track and reconfigured with more bank, more grip and
more attitude. Opening night was choked with appreciative fans and
cars. With his crummy two-year leases, Naylor has ironically emerged as
