just like the title - what speedways in the country run maintain and operate 2 different tracks at the same venue?

I only know of 2 right off hand. well actually 1. State Fair Speedway here in Oklahoma City used too. We had a 1/2 mile with a 1/4 inside of it. now we just have a 3/8ths.

The only 1 I really know of is Manzanita with their 1/3 and 1/2 mile tracks. Are there any other speedways in the US that have a 2 track setup?

Bridgeport (N.J.) Speedway has a 5/8 mile that is used for weekly (Saturdays) dirt Modified racing and Sprint Car specials and a 1/4 mile that is used for weekly (Fridays) Micro Sprint racing.

Well actually there are quite a few... Daytona. Indy and some other superspeedways have road courses that use a part of the infield. I think Irwindale has an inner/shared shorter oval. Texas, Atlanta and Charlotte have ovals that use part of the frontstretch "quad-oval". A lot of paved short ovals have a figure-8 track thru the infield like Slinger, Jeffersonville Sportsdrome, Rockford etc. Tri-City in IL used to be a half and quarter like OKC but is now a 3/8. Texas and Charlotte have dirt tracks on the grounds - Charlotte has a drag strip too. Texas had a quarter midget track off the backstretch too but don't know if it is still there. Dodge City has/had a shorter oval inside the outer. Just a few off the top of my head...

Riverhead (N.Y.) is one of those small asphalt tracks (1/4 mile) with a figure eight track in the infield.

Bristol has a drag track as well. So does Gateway in St. Louis.

I believe that their moto-x track is the infield of the dirt track.

There's an asphalt track near Flint, MI that operates two tracks. They have a 1/2 mile and a 1/4 mile track. The night I was there made me appreciate a good dirt track. It was a one lane freight train. And 68 camaros and 70 novas, are supposed to race in a straight line for a quarter mile not around an oval.

Junction Motor Speedway, McCool Junction, NE (Small track inside the main oval, both dirt)

I-80 Speedway / NE Raceway Park, Greenwood, NE (Small track, Little Sunset, behind grandstand and motorcross beyond the back stretch, all dirt)

Waynesfield Motorsports Park in Ohio has a 1/5 and a 1/3rd mile track.

Hawkeye Downs in Cedar Rapids Iowa has a 1/4 mile inside the half mile. Both are paved. Davenport, Iowa has the same thing with dirt but I do not know if both are used regularly.

I was thinkin dirt ovals......like both dirt ovals. But good I did not specify - the info being posted I find interesting. I did not know Flint had a track. thanks to ya'll for replying. asphalt or dirt - I still appreciate a place that operates 2 tracks at the same time. and I mean same night. like Manzy - they run both their 1/3 and 1/2 same nights dont they? I know OKC did......

Dodge City - that lil one may not be dirt - but one of the funnest time I had a track in this decade was there for the Inaugural (and coincidentally - only) 3/8ths mile nationals. It was ASCS National/Sooner/Rocky Mountain and NCRA. and it was a great race - they had about 55 or so sprints. and a "local" and favorite - by the name of Danny Jennings led the duration and G. Wright caught him last lap - side by side the final lap and Jennings won a photo finish. Our group of OKC patrons were pretty excited bout that one. But the lil track that night races these lil mitsu's called Hornets - dont remember what was so funny bout em - I think it was just the funny comments we kept making bout it. They were pretty cool to watch - technically - its still the only pavement race I have ever seen (plan to keep it that way).

Sorry - I have a way of my thoughts gettin away from me. Thanks fellas for the info. and please - to everyone - do share more. I never knew that about Waynesfield. thats pretty cool. I think it would take a ton of hardcore effort to maintain and prep 2 tracks to race in the same night - its cool of the places that do it. any more tracks that do this?

Altamont Raceway Park in Northern Calif., like Irwindale, has a 1/4 mile inside the 1/2 mile. Altamont was the scene of an infamous Rolling Stones concert in 1969. That was at a point in time when the track was closed. The concert was in a big field next to the track. They flew the bands in with choppers and landed them in the infield of the race track. The Grateful Dead lined up the Hells Angels for security and they ended up killing some guy in the crowd. He did have a gun, but the whole scene was very ugly. That was in Dec. 1969, the end of the 60s for sure.

Granite City used to have a big track and a small track inside.

Sedalia was the same way, a mile with a half mile on the inside.

Redwood Falls, MN has a quarter mile inside their half mile. I-80 Speedway used to have a quarter mile inside track, long before they built the go-cart track. Belleville, KS has a really small track inside the half-mile. North Platte, NE has or had a smaller track for the mini-sprints inside their 3/8 mile track. And Aberdeen, S.D. and the Nebraska State Fair speedways are both inside horse tracks (does that count??)

That was a mess. The Rolling Stones decided to put on a FREE concert and 250,000 people showed up. When the Stones got word about the man with the gun they called the chopper and got the bleep out of there. When the crowd realized that the Stones had left it turned into a riot and the track was practicall leveled.

Farley and Davenport Iowa both have 1/4 miles carved inside their half's. Davenport's 1/4 shares only part of the front stretch between the two tracks, the half is only used 2-3 times a year. Farley's 1/4 mile is accomplished by sharing everything but turns 3 and 4 with the half, both tracks are used regularly, most of the time the upper divisions will run the half and the supports will run the 1/4 on the same night. (Farley's quarter was finished in Jan of 2007 so it only has one season on it)

The old Sante Fe Speedway near Chicago had a 1/4 inside a paperclip half that shared everything but turns 1 and 2. The half was for specials only, around 8 times a year.
