we will be opening the 2009 SFS Fantasy League in just a few days time.
the first race WILL NOT be the All-State Modified Championship. The first race and matchups of the 2009 season WILL BE THE SPRING NATIONALS.
the threads to join the 2009 SFS Fantasy League will be opening very soon. so go ahead and pass that word around, hopefully we can get many new players for this 2nd season, as well as all who played in both league in the Inaugural Season. Everyone remember - it is not hard to play. Just log on before the race - and put your picks in. The official rules will be posted ASAP. The rules will be just like last year, same scoring, same matchup format (head-to-head). Only minimal changes are under consideration. more to come on that very soon.
But folks should know, it is extremely easy to play. Just log into this forum, and post your picks before that weeks race. The only thing I request is that once entered, play it out through the season, no matter your record. To keep up the integrity of a competitive fantasy league.
This is just a reminder, spread the word to friends and family. And get geared up for the 2009 SFS Fantasy League!!!

I have been looking around where is your website for this? Can I draft my own drivers?

This might not be the best explanation of the rules, but here goes. You pick one driver in each class before the races start on Friday night. Points are awarded according to where your drivers finish in there respective 'A' features. Low point totals win the night. If your driver doesn't make the 'A', your credited with the final spot in the 'A'.

Yeah, Bob, this is the place. There will be a separate thread for each week where you can make your picks. OKCFan12 will make out a schedule after all the teams are entered, and you will go head-to-head against one team each week. He will score your "game" and keep track of your season record, as well as Total Points. Then we'll have playoffs at the end of the year. It's a lot of fun. Just post your picks and see who your opponent has picked, and then enjoy the racing as you keep up with your drivers. As Bandit said, low point wins! 1 pt for a win, 2 for second, 3 for 3rd, etc.
There will be more info soon, as OKCFan has stated, but this is the place for SFS Fantasy League. Just look for threads on here about entering a team...coming soon!!
Let's Go Racin'!!

bandit and wescoe summed it up pretty good Bob6s.
We dont do a draft because it is not always certain what drivers will definitely be at the track. And trying to think of the best way to say it - sometimes the quality of the field in a certain class can present massive problems with a draft. Much of the time only 2 or 3 drivers are not only clear cut favorites over the field, but the results reflect it as well.
So to counter balance that, we split the Fantasy League up into division based on the number of teams playing. And then do a head-to-head matchup system. We weighed every option last year, and this was BY FAR the best and most effective in getting good competitive play. Last year we had 16 teams. So I split it into 2 divisions of 8. And it worked out perfectly. Every team played the others in their division twice, and we had an interleague. We had 1 rainout but also had an extra week. So - everyone played their own league twice - and the opposing league once. textbook perfect. Then we did the Winter Nationals as the playoff. 1st from both divisions against each others. and 2nd. and 3rd. and so on. The winner of the 1 vs. 1 matchups was champ. the loser 2nd. The winner of the 2 vs. 2 matchups was 3rd. loser was 4th. Everyone placed. The whole thing worked out so well - even in the last week - we had teams moving from 5th to 2nd in their divisions and so on. It stayed really competitive. That is about all I can explain in a couple paragraphs lol.
Here's how it works. I'll make a thread that shows standings and matchups for that week. and all you have to do - is post your picks in that thread. I do the rest. Yes, it is possible for you and your opponent to pick the same drivers. But it does not happen too often. Because the tiebreaker for a matchups is decided by total points (lowest number of total pts. wins). Our point system goes by the following. Lowest point totals win. Instead of a complicatied and weird reverse system of points. If your guy gets 2nd - thats 2 points. if he gets 8th - thats 8 pts. If your guy doesnt make the A Main - he is 1 point behind the last car in the A Main. If there are 20 cars in the A Main. then that would be a 21. You add these up over the classes racing that night - and the lowest total wins. As you will see when the standings get going, i keep track of point totals as well. They serve as the tiebreakers.
It was considered to have a website for this. But all of us already frequent enough racing websites already. That would just be 1 more. This forum is the PERFECT home for the Fantasy League for a variety of reasons. Too many too list to be honest. It's a win-win for everyone that the League be done here. Everyone benefits. Literally.
We'd be thrilled to have you play in the league Bob. Everyone is welcome to play. The only thing you as a player has to do is enter when the threads are opened on here. O yeah, you pick your team name too - and we go by that. And then every week just post your picks in the proper thread. After each week - actually late friday after the races are over - I type up the results and standings - and thats the thread you will put the picks in. No worry, no hassle. It's all very user friendly once you are registered with the forum as you already are. And as you can tell I go to great length to explain stuff. It's kind of my M-O around here LOL.
It would be awesome to have you play with us. Anyone and Everyone. It's just a another way to have fun at the races. I guess it is worth mentioning. We will not start the 2009 SFS Fantasy League with the modified race. Only 2 classes and it is unpredictable who will show. We will start the season with the Spring Nationals.
If you have anymore questions Bob, please feel more than free to ask. As you can tell I like questions lol.

Guys, don't forget about a back-up pick for that night in each class. Bob, it's just in case a driver that you pick does not make it to the track that night. Saves you from going down 20 points automatically.
