Tatnell Is A Titan!
Brooke Tatnell will drive for Reeve Kruck’s Titan Racing USA Team in 2009. The exciting news was confirmed by both Kruck and Tatnell in separate phone conversations this morning after Australian Speedway’s worst kept secret was finally rubber-stamped. “People got a bit carried away over the weekend,” says Brooke Tatnell, “Reeve and I hadn’t even met to discuss it by that point, we’d only spoken on the phone. Nothing was concrete until we met face to face on Monday but it was all over the place on the weekend. I guess people are excited about it, and that’s cool.” There’s no doubt Brooke is excited. “Anyone who knows Reeve and the phenomenal race team he has put together in the USA knows that driving for him would be a dream come true for so many of the world’s best drivers, and I’m no different. This is an awesome opportunity for myself and my family and I can’t thank Reeve enough for including me,” says Tatnell. Reeve Kruck is equally buoyant. “I think this is going to be a really good deal for everyone,” he says, “Daryn Pittman has been a great driver for my team over the years but the time is right to make some changes and I’m excited for Brooke that he’s coming on board. You only have to look at his results in Australia over the last three years in particular to see how fast he is right now and how much he wants to win.” The merging of Titan Racing USA and Brooke Tatnell makes the Brownsburg Indiana based operation a truly “Aussie” combination now. “It’s cool isn’t it?” says Tatnell, “I know we can achieve a lot for Reeve and also for Australian Sprintcar Racing. I can’t wait.” But wait, they’ll have to do. Brooke has commitments with Krikke Motorsport here in Australia before he joins up with Titan Racing USA. “We’re planning on Brooke racing with us until at least the Australian title at the Motorplex,” says Shane Krikke, “after that we’ll see what happens and then he’ll join up with Reeve. I’m really happy for both Brooke and Reeve that they can join forces; it’s going to be really cool to see an Aussie in an Aussie car. Brooke is our driver for the Australian Racing and he’s a Titan USA driver for the American races, it’s a win-win for everyone as far as I can see.” Tatnell is naturally indebted to KMS. “Krikke Motorsport is a family to me,” he concedes, “I’m committed to their program here in Australia and I’m loyal and grateful for what they have done for me and what we’ve achieved together.” Reeve Kruck sees it the same way. “Brooke has commitments to the Krikkes and I think that’s admirable,” he admits, “we won’t run the entire Outlaw schedule this year because he’ll be racing a bit longer in Australia and we’ll miss Florida and some early stuff but we’ll just pick and choose what races we contest. I’m looking forward to it.” Tatnell has been a long time friend of Daryn Pittman, and phoned the Oklahoma born racer to help out with some potential ride opportunities. “Both Daryn and I know what it’s like to move in and out of teams,” says Brooke, “I want to wish both Daryn and Mandy good luck for this new chapter in their racing. I assured Daryn I hadn’t spoken to Reeve prior to him phoning me and he knows that. Both Daryn and I know that Reeve doesn’t work that way anyway.” So there it is, the merging of Australia’s #1 Sprintcar driver and arguably the USA’s (Australian owned) most professional Sprintcar Team for 2009. Stand back folks

I just keep wondering how many outlaw teams there will be doing the whole outlaw gig? I am guessing the Titan team will run a large majority of the schedule, but they may pick and choose? Or is money even an issue for Kruck?

I think if you read between the lines here the reason they are picking and choosing is to allow Brooke to honour his Australian commitments Money a issue for Kruck I would not think so

Lets be realistic here, I like both Daryn and Brooke however this deal was a poorly executed move by the car owner. Its classless to leave a driver hanging so close to season getting started. With regards to abilities I predict you will see nearly the exact same points position achieved by Brooke as was achieved by Daryn. Brooke will win a couple of events just like Daryn did last year. The thing is though, you will not see Brooke win big events like Kings Royal (Daryn has won it) you wont see Brooke win the National Open in PA (Daryn has won it) you wont see Brooke win the Gold Cup in Chico (Daryn has won it) so from my perspective I think this move is more for national pride than common sense. As a car owner I would rather be able to pick up a large scale nationally contested event than run average finshes night in and out and only win a race here or there at small time events. Just the facts...
Cheers!

i am not taking sides here, just offering up a point or two, so remember that. alright then, would you rather have seen reeve keep pitman on and let him go during the season? he could have just as well kept quiet until tatnell was done with his aussie obligations and made the switch then. could have gained woo points till then too. the owner obviously had made up his mind to send the driver on. they do that you know. it is highly possible that reeve just recently made up his mind and is giving pitman notice straight away so he can have the opportunity to find something. how often does a real job give you a months notice before letting you go? the owner was man enough to let pitman know he was not wanted any more rather than keep him there as a lame duck driver until his driver of choice was available. it might have been the best the situation had to offer at the time for them both.

There are 12 to 13 team that are looking at running the whole shooting match. Jason sides, chad hillier are still up in the air. Lucas wolfe lose a sponsor that is start his own team so i do not think you will see lucas out fulltime this year.

The realistic fact is, Daryn was never in the league of the top runner's.
Racing is expensive, It's a business.
People get fired every day. It was time for Daryn to go by by.
Brooke will do VERY WELL in the no. 21.
A Bad Day Of Sprint Car Racing Is 10 Times Better Than
A Good Day At Work!

And you think Brooke will be a TOP RUNNER?? I personally don't see it. If he ran the whole season(09) i would say he would finish right about were Pittman finished last year. 6 heavy hitter's that will finish above him IMO.
Trophy Cup......Best race of the year hands down!
