PAST CHILI BOWL WINNER ELLIS COMES PREPARE
TULSA, OK…………1/12/09.………..Phoenix, AZ’s Dave Ellis returns to the 23rd Annual Chili Bowl Nationals in Tulsa, OK in search of another Golden Driller trophy. “This year, we have three cars entered with (Stockton, CA‘s) Johnathon Henry, (Bakersfield, CA’s) John Lowrey, and (Evans City, PA’s) Brandon Spithaler do the driving” revealed Ellis. “You gotta come to the race track prepared because as anybody knows, it is a lot of luck here at the Chili Bowl. You gotta be prepared because you can’t be thrashing on the car when you are here. You got to read the race track and go for a set up only but it still takes one thing to set you so far behind. It is a lot of luck here at the Chili Bowl.”
Ellis, a famed chassis builder for the Sprints and Midget teams in the southwest, success is no stranger as he captures the 1992 Chili Bowl Nationals with Sammy Swindell chauffeuring his machine. Ellis also won with Chuck Gurney nabbing the Bellevue Midget Nationals, a couple of Turkey Night 100 lappers when is was still run at Ascot Speedway, plus the majority of the televise California dirt sprint shows. Other drivers that drove for Ellis includes Page Jones, PJ Jones, Jac Haudenchild, Doug Wolfgang, Rich Voglar, Ronny Shuman, Lealand McSpadden,
