Carl Weathers new promoter...
For Real i dont think there is no secrets...When a press release or something is released from the fairboard then its a true done deal...I dont understand why everyone has there undies all up there ass over this...When something is settled and done it WILL be released...Im sure there will be fantastic racen once again in the future at wilmot..
Typen on here every hour and going to there court dates isnt going to make things go by faster...Sit back & crack a beer,or pop what ever, pull your britchs from the ass crack and wait out the outcome..Which most likely will be a good one... ; )

I think Repo hit the nail on the head, people need to know if their class is running as soon as possible so they know whether to spend money on their cars or not! I personally know people who race street stocks & 4 cyl's that have not touched cars since last year because they don't know if they are racing or not.

OK, OK, all we seem to know so far is that Apollo Creed is the new Wilmot promoter. So, where does Rocky Balboa fit into all of this? The 2009 racing season at Wilmot to be known now as "Rocky VI"? WHO is Carl Weathers?

This whole deal seams like it's going to be another long story. The fair board I hope already put some kind of schedule for the season together if they where really hoping for this to happen. I just hope they don't wait to May or June to post it. We can only hope for the good old days, 35 plus 410 sprints on a regular Saturday night with a decent purse. Should I dust off old red?

Wishful thinking 78sprint. For 35 410's to be brought back every Saturday nite,, the IRA would have to come back "home",, and as far as 2009 goes, their schedule is set,,, only 4 Wilmot appearances slated, so far. Add up the 30-35 IRA boys, plus the 10-15 WOS boys,, and Wilmot would be back up to their long time status as the weekly leader in sprint car count for the nation. The "good old days"?? I agree,, they were! Wilmot could have more, if only someone were to get in there and make it happen,,, may not be an overnite, deal, though. Best of luck to the Fair Board,,,, my hope is that there may be a member or 2 on that Fair Board that remembers what it USED to be like!

The source would be great to know but if it's true, I fear the fair board will not be real speedy on their intent. My experience tells me they make their plans and execute them with little to no input from anybody else. They own it so they can do what they want. I'll give them that. I hope they are interested in getting it back to the way it was and better. I have my opinions on what's going to happen but I don't know.

This is the best news we have heard about Wilmot in along time. Throw in a 410 Sprintcar and Minisprint program on the same night and we will have some good racing. Long live Wilmot Speedway.

Its official it made the front page of the Kenosha news today. Welderman are you part of the old regime, or are you one of the flagmen that kept the Simons bumper car all stars on the lead lap for the last 3 years. Well its a new era and hopefully the fair board takes their time and gets someone with real experience to bring this place back. I drove past Lake Geneva raceway this weekend and there it sits with no developing going on, what a shame.

Some people are just idiots. I have a plan. Lets all wish that Wilmot goes bust, and then we can travel at least 2, 3 hours in whatever direction to get our fix of racin'. Why the negativity? I am thinking the negative posts are comin from relatives of the hillbillies that ran the place into the ground. You know, Wives, Sisters, Aunts, Husbands, Brothers, Uncles......Oh wait, probably the same 2 people. C'mon people, lets get excited for the only track around here, if there was some way to show the fair board our support for what we want, that sure would be a good thing........

i did see the news paper today, yes this is great news, but do ya really think there will be 410 sprint cars weekly next year,(2010) the i.r.a. would not let that happen, they would loose car count due to the economy and most teams would run wilmot , i know there are a ton of cars i havent seen in years that are sitting waiting to come back, hopfully it can get back to the old days ,time will tell

Money talks, bullshit walks, and who could stop who? Guys could run where they want, as long as they make enough money. In this day and age, traveling is hard to do, and it just may lead to Wilmot having a very nice 'weekly' show of 410's. One could only hope........ Luckily for me, Wilmot is basically in my backyard. It would be so sweet to not have to drive 2,3 hours to see a 'good' show.

all i can say is i sure hope these peole have some kind of idea what it takes to run a race program. theres alot of things that have to happen , like all the track people . flag man, scorers, gate people safty crew, people to get track ready, just alot of people to put one show together, dont think for one minute this is something that just happens, and for welderman, he ran the show the best way possible with no favortisom ,never easy to please everyone all the time always remember that before you speak..
