Sioux Falls, SD. (November 11, 2004) - The ASCS Northern Plains Region would like to welcome back the North Central Speedway in Brainerd, MN., as they have singed on to host (4) race dates in 2007.

The ASCS Northern Plains region held (3) race events in 2007 at one of the nicest facilities in all of dirt track racing nestled among the pine trees of northern Minnesota.

The first ever appearance of the ASCS to Brainerd was on Saturday July 1st for the Annual Kouba Memorial race and saw Chuck Swenson take the feature victory honors, which was one of many and helped propel Swenson to the 2006 ASCS Northern Plains Championship.

ASCS was invited back for the Annual MIGHTY AXE NATIONALS which is one of the biggest (2) day race events held in the state of Minnesota, September 2nd and 3rd. A record car count for North Central Speedway greeted the race fans as over (200) cars signed in each night. Curt Lund took the feature win on night number one, and Dustin Lindquist won his first ASCS event on night two.

The MIGHTY AXE NATIONALS is one spectacular race event that needs to be penciled in on any race fans calendar. Two great nights of competition at one of the nicest speedways in the country, free camping at the track, huge bonfires both nights, music both nights after the races and a party atmosphere, what more can a race fan want?

The ASCS will make it's first visit to North Central Speedway in 2007 on Wednesday night June 20th as part of the 2007 ASCS National Northern Speedweeks Event. This is an ASCS National Points race and with $3000 to win the A feature event, this race will showcase some of the best sprint car drivers in the country.

The 2006 ASCS National Champion Gary Wright, Hooks, TX., has won over (100) ASCS feature events in his career, Jason Johnson from Eunice, LA., won the Thursday night qualifier at the 2006 Knoxville Nationals and then followed that up with a solid 3rd place finish on Saturday's Championship night against the best in the world at the Knoxville Nationals. Add Jesse Hockett from Warsaw, MO., Nick Smith (Broken Arrow, OK.), Travis Rilat (Forney, TX), Sean McClelland (Collinsville, OK.), Darren Stewart (Bixby, OK.), 15 year old Trey Robb (Newcastle, OK.), Sam Hafertepe, Jr. (Sunnyvale, TX.), and Tony Bruce, Jr. (Liberal, KS.) who was the 2006 ROOKIE OF THE YEAR at the Knoxville Nationals and throw in the ASCS Northern Plains regulars, the race fans will be treated to a stellar field of (40) plus sprint cars on June 20, 2007.

The ASCS Northern Plains regional gang will return to the fast 3/8 mile North Central Speedway on Saturday July 7th and then again for the big (2) day 2007 MIGHTY AXE NATIONALS on Saturday and Sunday September 1st and 2nd.

Next update…ASCS returns to I-80 Nebraska Raceway Park, Greenwood, NE. for 2007.
