Do we STILL have to prove that QCs are working for the Modified class?
It's been spelled out on these boards over and over again that the cost of a QC is CHEAPER in the long run compared to what these Modifieds are running in 9 inch rear ends -- especially the ones who travel. I did a survey on that last year and it was ten to one in favor of QCs. You just had 95 cars on a DECEMBER weekend in Houston on USMTS/QC rules. They work guys. Let's go with it. Here's a partial list again, let's get their votes counted...again....
Ray Alexander, Tupelo, Mississippi
Brian Boram, Mauriceville, Texas
Jamie Burford, Keatchie, Louisiana
Curtis Cook, Naylor, Arkansas
Joel Couvillion, Alexandria, Louisiana
Jody Davidson, West Monroe, Louisiana
Russel Enright, Rusk, Texas
Mike Gerardo, Rusk, Texas
Richie Ginn, Baton Rouge, Louisiana
Derrck Grigsby, Marshall, Texas
Casey Jordan, Grand Saline, Texas
Chris Henigan, Marshall, Texas
Michael Knighten, Shreveport, Louisiana
David Mitchell, Ashdown, Arkansas
Dougie Murphrey, Tullos, Louisiana
Kyle Pleasant, Robeline, Louisiana
Michael Robertson, Minden, Louisiana
BJ Robinson, Shreveport, Louisiana
Billy Robinson, Blanchard, Louisiana
Mark Smith, Lufkin, Texas
Jake Tucker, Collierville, Tennessee
John Williams, Haughton, Louisiana
If I had the time I could round up 100 more.

My reason for asking this question has had NOTHING to do with the up and coming Texas Motor Speedway World Dirt Track Championships event coming up in February. Never even mentioned that event in my posting. The TMS event has NOT CHANGED the rule on Quick Change gearing and they have not even indicated a change in that rule.
I am interested in the views of racers. And not just those in our area. But all across the country from coast to coast. Thank you all for your opinions. Keep them coming.

I had been saying for probably 10 years that qc's are the way to go for modifieds. If you look at it just from the cost standpoint, the initial cost of the rearend itself is higher, but the gear sets cost nearly 10 times less than a ford 9" third member with a full spool. I bought a new 9" gear at Smiley's at the beginning of this year, it cost $465. A new qc gear set costs $45-55 on average.
I'm glad the rules were changed to allow qc's at SFS and BMS. My new car has a qc under it.
Also..... something has to be said for them if even Lanny agreed to the rule change.
My $.02
It's not HOW fast you go, but how you GO fast.
