Has anyone heard if they are have the Badger Midget Spring Nationals at The Sandbox at Cedar Lake again in 2009? I had a blast last year hope they have it again.

I heard April 4-5, but i can't find anything on either www.sandboxarena.com or www.bmara.com

The last time I talked to the open wheel racing coordinator (fancy title for the Swamp Man) he said it was going to depend on whether Sandbox beefs up their ventilation. That was supposed to happen last spring right after the Midget race but evidently it had not been done as of the UMSS meeting in October. The Sandbox is not owned by the Speedway promoters. I don't know the details of their business arrangement but apparently the upgrade needs to be done by the Sandbox. That's the last I heard but we should get the full schedule and find out about the Midget race at the Cedar Lake Banquet on the 17th of January. We'll be sure to post when we know more.

There is a tentitive plan to run the midgets in the sandbox arena the first of april. They will know more in a month or so.
