================
Eddy Daley was part of the group of folks from Riverside, California that moved to Tulsa when K&N Yamaha relocated here.
Norm McDonald, Red Daley, Ray Nichols, Steve Nichols, Lucy, Phil, Pat Sam McDonald, along with Wanda and Eddy Daley were among those that came with K&N.
Norm McDonald, who was the N in K&N as in the Air Filter company, co-owned K&N Engineering along with Kenny Johnson the K in K&N.
They were the founders of K&N Air Filters which began in 1964.
Red Daley was the crew chief and race hauler driver for K&N.
A young college student named Malcolm Smith went to work for K&N, which at that time rented racing equipment and performance accessories and sold motorcycles.
From the AMA Hall of Fame Page:
"Smith enjoyed the mechanical aspects of the sport so much that he enrolled in college to become an aviation mechanic. He met Norm McDonald and Kenny Johnson
(who founded K&N). Norm convinced Smith to come to work for them building racing engines. Smith broke the "bad news" to his parents that he was going to drop out of college after three years to work on motorcycles."
Malcolm later purchased K&N Yamaha in Riverside, California when Norm chose to move his business to Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Coming from this rich background of motorcycle enthusists, Eddy Daley had a flare of imagination and innovation. He spent many late nights at his dad's machine shop tooling parts, cutting off excess weight and making cool one off racing parts.
Eddy was a great artist and showcased some of his artistic work on his race-van. Most that knew him remember the Father Time
painting that Eddy hand painted with an airbrush on the van.
He and the late Terry Smith designed their own racing leather designs, and designed the paint schemes for their racing motorcycles.
Today Red Daley owns and operates Daley's Speed Shop in Tulsa, Oklahoma Red has a large selection of motorcycle and ATV salvage parts and accessories. Daley stocks performance products, including race tires, wheels, chains and sprockets. Specialty ignition and fuel systems. Red is a master welder in TIG and MIG and fabricates custom parts. He also has boring bars, and a complete machine shop.

Results from December 27, 2008 Rnd #6 AMP Outlaw Winter Nationals Inaugural Eddy Daley "Tribute to Life" Special By: Action Motorsports Productions The rafters of the Historic OK Corral Indoor Arena thundered with the sound of explosive action Saturday night! This time it was not the typical firearm associated with the OK Corral, but a different weapon of choice for the showdown. Eight warriors were locked in intense battle using their 3.75 Inch caliber machine guns. With the flash of a bright green light, the war began, a 15 lap contest atop the clay of the indoor short track, of which only one would be the first to be crowned with the title of winning the first Eddy Daley "Tribute to Life" race. Although no lead bullets were used, the power of the giant guns ripped the ground sending projectiles of bullets of clay into the night air. The thunder from the large exhausts pounded the ground and chests of all that witnessed this great battle. A battle that had deep meaning to many watching and an even deeper meaning to the person that would win the coveted title. Among those watching intensely included Eddy’s niece Nikki Smith, Greg Bowman, Ronnie Jones, Scott Adams, Dave Burleigh, Bull Haynie, Larry Neighbors, Shane Carson, Orbin Adams, Denny Sowders, Jerry Cartwright, Bob Oertle and a long list of folks who raced along side of and enjoyed watching the motorcycle racing talents of the late Eddy Daley. When the smoke cleared and the dust settled inside the OK Corral, one man stood the victor. That man was AMA Grand National rider #16 A. J. Eslick aboard his R&D Machine, F&S Suzuki sponsored Suzuki Framer! The same rider that captured the Dubberly Cup, won the Inaugural Corkey Story Memorial and now holds the title of the first rider to win the Inaugural Eddy Daley "Tribute to Life" race. Volunteers had the oak-firewood burning in both the Pot-Belly Stove and the Double Barrel Heaters and both were aglow at the OK Corral Indoor Arena, but neither were a match for what was to unfold tonigh. Battle lines were drawn atop the clay oval for round 6 of the 14 race 6th Annual AMP Outlaw Winter Nationals Indoor Short Track Point Series. The series in it's sixth year of existence has grown to a new level for this year's competition seeing several new racers and teams joining the fun at the historic OK Corral Indoor Arena.
The point chase closed up again in the Blaster 300 and the 85 youth divisions with full starting grids for the Main Events. Racers battled atop the cushion clay/sand mixed surface inside the historic OK Corral Indoor rodeo arena, which began hosting races in 1972. The arena is located 20 miles east of downtown Oklahoma City four miles north of Interstate I-40 at exit 172 the Harrah/Newalla Road. When the smoke cleared it was Logan Yelton defeating repeat winner Baliey Hughes the hotly contested 85-A class. With Franike Bardaro sporting a new set of suspenders on his quad taking home second spot. Hughes came with back to back wins defeating Yelton in the 95 class, taking home the gold. Local popular racer Tristian McElyea out gunned all comers in the Blaster class with Cody Yelton taking second with Mike Bland finishing third in the class.
Sean O'Hagan got his first win taking out two time winner Donnie Foster with Stephen Grimes landing in third spot in the 250-A Quad class. Open A saw O'Hagan take the checkers over Stephen Grimes and Kyle Myers.

Sperry's best finish of the night came in the 250 Pro class with a win over Billy McKinney and Gary Rhodes. Billy McKinney had no problem with tonight's tacky track surface as he found the set-up and outran the field in the Open Pro Class.
The youth Quad division riders hit the track running in the main events as the fans in the stands witnessed several close finishes including youngster Brayden O'hagan outgunning Tre'Than Lee in the PW BB class, Dakota Powell won the PW-A class. Logan Yelton took the hotly contested Youth 85-A win over Frankie Bardaro who had his best finish of the 85-A class in the series, and two strong competitors Bailey and Jaiden Hughes. Bailey came back to win the 95 Mod division over last rounds winner Cody Yelton and Cole Hocker finishing in an impressive third spot.
Open Pro Quads thundered the rafters again in the 36 yr-old building blasting off when the green lights blinked for the final Quad race of the meet which was won by local-racer Billy McKinney.
