Tentative GSC schedule out/ Subject to change
The tentative schedule for the 2009 Golden State Challenge King of California Series season is now posted at www.johnpadjenmotorsports.com
The schedule is currently subject to change with a couple dates having the possibility of being changed or removed. There is a meeting next week with the powers to be to set the schedule and get it firmed up.
So once again this schedule is tentative and subject to change but keep checking here and at www.johnpadjenmotorsports.com for updates on when it becomes set.
Opening night is currently scheduled to be at the Placerville Speedway on March 28.

Holy crap........Santa Maria is on the schedule this year!! YES, YES, YES. I hope it stay's on the finalized schedule. It would be great for racing to have the winged cars back at the historic track. I'm getting the BBQ(Santa Maria Style) ready for that one. I love how there's quite a few tracks on the schedule for this up coming year.
Trophy Cup......Best race of the year hands down!

Wow will that last Placerville race show with the Knoxville Nationals that same weekend, will that now decide a champion.....I really dont like the idea of having a GSC race the same weekend as the Nationals..... Drivers dont want to win a championship cause their competitor is competing elsewhere.... I do like Santa Maria back on the schedule though..... So who is returning back to run GSC?

I like the schedule- no changes please! I have to go to Santa Maria this year and make a summer vacation out of it! I also like starting the GSC season off later and going into August! Placerville is a great place to start off the season because it is only 20 minutes away and one of my favorite tracks
Sideways- Not many GSC drivers make the trip to Knoxville anymore especially with our bad economy right now!
Looking forward to the new Golden State King of the
West series schedule!

tyler walker, tk, jon allard, roger crockett were at last years nats. you could add sammy swindel if he continues to run for rolfe. i would say those are some top gsc teams that make the trip to k-ville.

Thats what Im talking about WrightOne.... Since I was a kid, I remember NARC giving our guys a break and running the Nationals....Its like penalizing the top teams for being good.... Was cubicdollar behind this???? haha... This might save the local teams some money, staying home and running Placerville instead of the Nationals....

The 2009 schedule is outstading with a return to Stoga, Santa Maria and two Oregon dates. However, they should keep the Knoxville Nationals date open as TK, JA and T-dub will be there. Why not move the P-Ville date to late August?

The 09 GSC Schedule does not allow for a Gary Patterson or Walt Ross Memorial Race? Anyone know why?

Sprint car fans....
There was a meeting last night with many of the Golden State car owners, drivers and promoters about many topics for the 2009 season.
I know that one of the things talked about was the Aug 15 date conflicting with Knoxville. We will advice the fans of changes when they become available....which should be soon....
Happy Holidays

The new schedule is great. Don't change a thing. If any thing extend it past Gold Cup a couple of races. Just because K-Ville is running doesn't mean that you stop racing in Cali. As an owner you must decide if running for a series championship or K-ville is important. To stop racing a premeir 410 series at the end of july or first week into aug. to me seems to short change the other 20 plus 410 cars and drivers out there. There season is done unless they have a 360 in the shop.

I too think the schedule is great and happy for the extra couple of races, however that said, there would be nothing wrong with a 2 week break during the Knoxville Nationals. This would give the teams a chance to take a break, work on their cars, race a Silver Dollar Friday night show or go to Knoxville and race if so desired or even just go and enjoy the whole Knoxville National experience. I for one am sorry that with the schedule as it is now I won't be able to go back to Knoxville again this year. With Silver Dollar racing into October possibly the date (s) in question could be changed and added somewhere between August 22nd. and October10th.
I see based on the schedule my son brought home from the meeting last night that the race June 16th. at Cottage Grove is no longer listed, perhaps there will be other changes before all is said and done.
Just my opinion !

looks like you may get to go to k-ville after all as a check of the gsc schedule shows an open week during nats.

I think I read the first three sentances and stopped.....To NOT ALLOW a PREMEIR series to go run in their PREMIER race, is rediculous.....And if we do not allow them to go and compete, this series that is one of the top traveling series in the country, wont be thought of as one....
