It is ridiculous how much is said about Texas. OU fan or not! ESPN hates OU and they can't get over OU being the better team. Texas has a good argument but with a three way tie you can not rely on just head to head. Look at Texas' none conference schedule. Florida Atlantic 6-6 Sub Belt conference UTEP 5-7 C-USA Rice 9-3 C-USA Arkansas 5-7 SEC One team has a winning record and that is Rice. They kill Rice every year. Yes they did have a good run versus OU, Missouri, OSU, Tech. But OU had just as good of a run. And ESPN does not take account that we lead almost the whole game. Its not like they stomped our ass. It was the right thing to take everything in account over the WHOLE year and OU is the better team. Its driving me nuts how much they talk about this. Its over OU is going not Texas.

hey man this is what i been harpin on since LAST weekend.

espn is pissed because for once they didnt run the show and get the team they thought should be there. dirty bastards.

you are correct. and i still like what dirt dale said in another post. that Texas kept harping on the head to head with them and OU - literally forgetting the fact that Texas Tech was in the building. i dont think its right for tech to not go to a BCS game. i mean - we were only laying it on thick because we had to.

the present make up of the BCS is a big slap in the face of the idea of sportsmanship. if you are OU or Texas - in the situation they been in the last month or so. when you are up 55-17 with 3 min. to go in the 4th - the game is decided - you still have to keep runnin up the score because some voters are stupid enough to just see the final score - and the comps also take it into account too.

I actually am for the BCS. it just has flaws that get exposed terribly every few years. the coaches poll is probably necessary. but i think to fix the bias in that they should any teams lowest 1-3 rankings. like if OU is top 5 team - and the KFC guy - i mean Schnellenberger votes em out of the top 20 - it wouldnt have the desired effect of screwing that team. damn.....not explaining this good. ya'll see what i mean? the few coaches who for biased reasons vote a team low to try to screw them - yeah if the 1-3 lowest rankings that team had from a coach is thrown out - it remedies this somewhat. the comps already do it - and they aint even biased....

also - Harris Poll needs to go. this group isnt fit to lead a Taliban detail. as a whole - they do not belong. over half those in it arent qualified to be in the position they are. they need to make up a new group of folks who have a good history of being unbiased. or as close as you can get to it. and just like what i propose with the coaches - to get rid of the biased corruption - throw out (not factor in) the lowest 3 votes for any said club.

the computers - i believe - are fine the way they are. they throw the lowest out for any said team too. which is good - because each computer uses a different system. hey these are necessary. and they work. not just because i am an ou fan lol - but they did do the RIGHT thing. they rewarded OU for beating the #12 team on the road - and scoffed at Texas barely covering the spread against the #84 team in the nation at home. see - computers work.

but obviously polls dont. as i been eluding to the minute the BCS standings came out last week - and the Oklahoman (John Rhode) echoed today - those who had OU #2 after the tech game - and then put Texas ahead of OU after last week - are idiots. this sunday every coach and harris voter's vote for the whole year becomes public - all those who did that are idiots - and should be subject to ridicule (e-mails). i will set aside an hour or 2 next week - just for that purpose.

and yes OU's wins over 2 teams that are STILL in the national top 20 - prob made the difference in the computers. rightfully so. hey everyone been harping on Ohio St. and the Big 10 for the weak non conferences schedules they all have - well Texas was stupid enough to do it too this year - and they paid for it. so to anyone who still think the Red River game was the end all be all. i implore you to remember TEXAS TECH. as well as the non conference schedule difference between OU and Texas. obviously ESPN still cant get it, from the time it happened until now - they still havent grasped the fact that Florida lost AT HOME to an 8-4 team....

yeah tell me that. how is Florida a 10 pt. favorite - when they lost at home to an 8-4 team - and alabama is undefeated???? 10 friggin points!

Welcome to ESPN - the worldwide leader in sports - the Wal-Mart monopoly of the sports world...

I heard John Roadie (sports writer from the Daily Joklahoman and a complete idiot by the way) on the KATT this morning trying to defend his reasoning that Texas should be in and OU should be out. This guy should go write for the Austin paperand get the h*ll out of Oklahoma. I'm also tired of hearing how the Texas/OU game is played on a "neutral" field. The game is in Dallas, which is in Texas. If the damn thing were held in Arkansas or somewhere they MIGHT be able to sell me on that "neutral" field crap.

Just my 2 cents, of course.

i agree. those stands might be neutral. but the all those workin the cotton bowl are not! (parking lot, concession, etc. etc. etc.) ------ so technically - its not really nuetral lol.....

seriously though - i agree. its not neutral - it just isnt in Austin.....

i actually never agree with any of the Sports writers at the Oklahoman. i do agree with the point that those who switched their votes based on the texas/ mack brown/ariplane/espn/musberger/herbstreit media campaign are complete idiots. although technically - for rhode thats the pot callin the kettle black.....

Let's cut to the chase. TV Networks care about one thing, and that's ratings.....how many people are glued to the set, watching the commercials. ABC-ESPN is inclined to want a Florida audience over an Alabama audience, and they darned sure want a Texas-sized audience over an Oklahoma audience. Houston, Dallas, and part of San Antonio have more people than all of OK, and that translates to ratings and ad money. They couldn't care less about the quality of the football (or racing, for that matter) they televise, as long as it has the interest of the greatest possible number of fans. How many people in Ohio or California? Wonder why they love Ohio State and USC? Same thing with baseball, actually....if they could arrange a Yankee-Dodger World Series every year, they'd be in heaven. I just have to laugh at the network that bought the rights to the Notre Dame games a few years ago. The one school that probably transcends regional interests, and they suck so bad the Pope wouldn't even watch 'em. Smile

I won't watch ESPN sportscenter or college game day this week for that fact. I won't watch their NFL ananlyst cause they do everything except tell when the players take a crap. I will watch the programming as I am sports junkie (no movies or tv shows here - just all sports all the time and that don't mean no bowling or poker either.

They cram things down your throat with their "Gospel" analysis and I could care less what they think. Even if they were ALL OU all the time. That is why I don't listen to the Sports Animal. Some of those OU callers make me sick and I have been an OU fan since 1973.

I just hope the field conditions at KC aren't bad and OU can rack up over 60 points on Missouri and head to the BCS championship game and have people cry even louder. Then I hope OU comes in focused for a change and dominates Florida or Alabama to leave Bob Stoops saying, "Any question?"

Stoops basically said in his press conference today, "I don't make the rules, I just play by them."

I'm tired of listening to OU fans bitch about the coverage UT is getting. All friggin year long the networks praise OU and kiss their butts and since they aren't getting all the attention, which they are still getting plenty, they are going to throw a fit. Nice. I do agree that the halftime UT campaign was bull though. Anyway get over it. OU ended up on the better end.

Why should UT get any coverage. The only reason they are is because there "bitching". OU is going, so this is thing needs to go to rest. That was the point of this post. And if you think ESPN is talking about OU all year, you obviously haven't watched much of it. If ND was ranked and playing good Texas or OU would get 15 seconds on ESPN. Lou Holtz would be lovin that. GO IRISH!!

I've said it before. They don't play on paper!! All three teams had a chance to put the thing away. OU did it in a fasion that said we are better. That's the bottom line. Now then, I'm tired of everyone saying OUvsFU for the national championship. They both need to go out saturday and win to be there. I'm sorry for saying again but they don't frickin play it on paper!!!!! I'm an OU fan (die hard) but I can't overlook the facts still at hand. Let's concentrate on how OU can beat Missouri and then the winner of FUvsBama first then see what happens in the crazy world of college football.

Yours truley, Dale

Like I said, I am worried about track, I mean field conditions for OU's high-powered offense. Plus Chase Daniel hasn't had his breakout game yet in 2008 so that kinda scares me as well.

And sadly, it almost sounds as if Bradford is paying for OU's situation and might not get the necessary votes for the Heiseman. I know Mossman probably can't comment on too much but wish he would post what he can for us.
