My prayers go out to Ricky his Son and family. I happen to be at some races about 10 years ago by Hugo and happen to run in Danny out there. He had moves there which suprised me. He was my Dad's favorite driver in the 70's

My thoughts and prayers go out to Dannys' family. I watched his "Blue Velvet" #66 win many races at SFS. RIP Mr. Daniels.

I have a few pics laying around the house somewhere.

He was part of that Del City racing group that I grew up around. Mark Weeler, David, The Degrafareids, sorry if I butchered the name.

Hard to believe another one of our heroes gone! Danny & "Blue Velvet" used to put on quite a show on the 1/4 mile, & actually did a good job when he moved up to the supers.

Very sorry to hear this, RIP Danny!

I remember when I was a kid seeing him race both that "wedge" super modified and the #66 Late model.

My Dad was friends with CH Cave who passed away earlier this year.

C H & Danny raced late Models together back in the 70's.

Yes we are losing more of my childhood heroes.

I never really wanted to be like some of the football or baseball stars I saw on TV

I wanted to be a racer & these were guys I could walk up to & talk to after watching them race on Fri or Sat night.

Thanks Big D. I remember back in 1998 when Ricky was driving the green 66 for "Bosco" and Danny kept giving both of them a hard time about "That damn green race car". Danny told "Bosco", "Ask Wendy what that damn green will do for you. She knows." He got on a roll and had all of us cracking up. Something he was always good at.

I also remember when they kept the car around the corner from our house in Del City. My dad was always over there getting what they called "secrets". LOL

Condolences to the entire Daniels family. Thank you for some great memories.

I lost my long time friend of 45 years. We spent a alot of hours buiding and tearing down race cars back in the day when you built your own. haha! we came up with the 66 race number pattern by Danny crawling up and taking the 66 signs down so we could have a pattern. We painted them ourselves too! Danny could do anything good with his hands. He was one of the best race care drivers I have ever known. God Bless you Danny my friend, you will be truley missed.

Memories of the "Blue Velvet" #66 and Danny are still as fresh in my mind, as if it were yesterday. He was, and will always be a Class Act with his enormous Smile and willingness to help others.

If there were a "Wall of Fame" or a "Hall of Fame", Danny Daniels would certainly be on the list of top nominee's.

Our thoughts and Prayers are with the Daniels Family.

God Speed Danny.

I'm so sorry to hear about Danny's death. My dad Wayland Brown and Danny grew up together. When my dad was 5 yrs. old he lived in a small apt. building downtown. Danny lived in the same building. My aunt baby sat Danny, Danny was still in diapers my Aunt always reminded Danny that she changed his diapers and always gave him a hard time about it. My dad and Danny were childhood friends and remained good friends all through their racing careers. Danny was always so nice to me and my sister. I think of Danny Daniels and remember him being very kind, and had those smiling eyes and smile. 66 is one of those racing numbers that stays with generations of family, which is the true meanings of traditions. My family sends its condolences to the family of Danny.
