I was watching the news on Channel Four in Okc at 6 and they said that the fans at the game Wed. night were booing. I kinda find that interesting.

1-11 not much to cheer for. They should have beat the Clippers. I hope the fans dont blow it though.

the fans will blow it when they realize to watch a good basketabll team in oklahoma means going to Lloyd Noble instead of the Ford Center.

the Blunder is the most atrociously GUTLESS team I have ever seen in pro ball. they make our minor league teams like the Blazers and Redhawks look like professional powerhouse dynasties. i just wander if this is worth the millions in taxpayer dollars already spent - and that will be spent in the future ------ on how many more fronts will the Blunder continue.

i know I'm gonna piss off my otherwise-agreeable-with everything else- buddy nonwing bill lol. but dam they are worse than bad. everyone expected em to be bad. but to play with absolutely no heart or desire..........its horrible. there is no connection between the Blunder and its surroundings (fan base) - and unless they start playing with some heart - there may never be.

I'm exercizing my own advice as we speak in getting tickets for a REAL Oklahoma basketball team. a team that actually plays with some heart. The Oklahoma Sooners.

not trying to personally offend fans of this nba team and their presence here. i was just skeptical at best before - I'm just hoping for the sake of everyone who like em - that the whole season doesnt go like this. playing like this - if ya'll think 1-11 is bad........................lol.

Friday will be the biggest crowd of the season and probably for the entire year. The Hornets return for an 8:30 game on ESPN. I wonder what team will get the bigger cheers? You can bet the place will go crazy when Chris Paul is introduced. Makes me wonder.........if the Thunder were to beat the Hornets........will the fans boo?

Man I love me some hoops, but I just can't get into the Thunder. It all started with the name, WTF is that? I think they should have gone with the Fightin' Gary Englands. That would have been a team to get excited about. Anyway, everyone is right the team to watch is OU. With Griffin, Warren, Crocker, etc that team is exciting and explosive. I hope they make it far into the tourney as this team will only be together for one year.

I expected em to beat the clippers also. I have to agree with Cody tho, they didn't play with much enthusiasm or heart. I have to admit that I was shocked to hear em announce Carlismo would continue to coach when they moved here. He's a good coach but can he get em playing like a team or not. I've heard of arguments in the locker room between players. That can't ever be good for a team. I have tried to watch a few games and I gotta say it's tough to do when they play lacidasical as they do. But then again, I'm no expert on basketball but have seen a game or two. I hope they get it together "sooner" than later. No pun intended.

I doubt they get it together this year. Hopefully they can pick up some good freeagents in the off season. Maybe AI!!! JK I dont think AI would come to OKC. But that would be cool.

I would love to see them have a winning record but to tell you the truth I enjoy to see all the other great players that come to okc to play the thunder and I dont have to drive hundreds of miles to another state. Because they are right there at the ford center.

i agree. they look to be awesome this year.

and this has been Capel building it from the ground up almost. when Sampson bailed - 4 VERY good recruits did too (Damien James now in TX, Scottie Reynolds now at Villanova) and Keith Clark didnt pan out either. yeah there were a few left the last 2 years fromt he Sampson era - i'm just saying the program was left in a sort of disarray. and Capel went and got Griffin, and Cade Davis - and others.

to elaborate on your very good points cheese. not at all does this look to be the all-or-nothing year. yes we will lose Taylor Griffin, and most likely Blake Griffin, Austin Johnson will grad too. BUT - but look at what is coming in. right now Oklahoma has the #8 recruiting class of over 300 college div. 1 teams. a dream class. a true dynamic point guard, a true shooter (SG), 2 awesome power forwards, and now the #5 big man in the nation (C).

Landing Mason-Griffin - the point guard was huge. because the center we just signed (Gallon) is on Mason-Griffin's high school team. 2 for 1 almost. Pledger is one of the true shooters of the rec. class. and both forwards are among the Rivals 150.

yes 1 look at the sooners and they prob should win the big 12. and a 1 or 2 seed in the NCAA. when you look at how good they are - its difficult to think otherwise. one thing for sure - they are good and will be reckoned with all season. i think less than 5 losses by tourney time is very realistic. but next season wont be the rebuilding year it looks like. this Wright kid that transfered from UCLA - watching him during the davidson game - he is good and will be even better next year. same for Cade Davis. he's good now - and prob will be even better next year. Willie Warren - he'll probably be the star. the incoming Mason-Griffin will prob start as a true freshman. and as true frosh goes - will prob make some mistakes and turnovers - but will prob be really good too. If Capel can recruit like this - we will have a deep team that is top 3 big 12 - probably every year.

OU needs to do everything they possibly can and then some to keep Jeff Capel. I think he is the perfect fit - and this program will flourish with him at the helm.

but cheese you are right on as usual. to have Blake Griffin and Willie Warren together this year - as well as Taylor Griffin - a senior that will bring what seniors do to a team. and then Crocker, Wright, David, Johnson ------- this team is deep. and they showed it tuesday night vs. Davidson. they had foul trouble early for a few players. OU did what 3 high seeded tournament teams (Gonzaga, Georgetown, and another i forget) could not do. heck georgetown has a 20+ lead midway through the 2nd half. and Curry blasted back and then davidson won. i think they should get more credit than they do. although it was dead on for Davidson (a school with enrollement less than 2,000!!!) to be nationally ranked to start the year. they will drop out of the top 25. but i would keep right outside. because they are damned good.

lastly... lol. as if this wasnt long enough. I'd like to bash the punk b*tch Dick Vitale. i dont wish any harm or injury on anyone - but last year after he had some surgery - he didnt announce any games until the very end of the year. and i loved it (although on a personal level i'm glad he's alright). i loved being able to watch a game without hearing his biased ass calling it with his stupid quip trademarks. he is an ACC thumper and nothing else. Duke and UNC basketball is it for him. Tyler Hansborough this. Tyler Hansborough that. ok thats fine. he;s a special player. among the best the past 2 seasons. where I have an issue with Dick Vitale right now. listen to his rankings last week. he rated the 1st, 2nd, 3rd All-American teams. he didnt have Blake Griffin in ANY OF THEM!!!!!! thats indefensible. also in his top 25 voting. didnt have Oklahoma anywhere on it. and from other sources no where near being in it! how is that! it would be one thing if OU was a team that was made or broken by 1 player. they are not though. no they prob are not a national contender without griffin. but i bet without griffin they still be a top 25 team. just knowing how Vitale is with all his duke carolina BS - and thumpin Hansborough all the time. i cant stand the guy. evem before that. he is annoying. and btw - between Griffin and Hansborough - who has a REAL future in the NBA. i bet Hansborough will be more like a Eduardo Najera. great college player. very average pro player. Griffin will probably be more like Amare Stoudamire. his game resembles Stoudamire's greatly. then again - vitale said that by THIS YEAR - Duke's Paulus would be a contender for player of the year. he had a good frosh year. but he now occupies the bench most the time lol.

ok there's my first real rant in a long time. i'm good for awhile................lol

Yah right.

Having a 15 pt lead and then losing by 20 to the worst(besides OKC) team in Basketball had nothing to do with it.

I think the way he dealt with the media and his overall lack of care whether the players had any community involvement didn't help.

I used to think Latrell Spreewell was way off when he put the chokedown on PJ.

Maybe he had a point there...........

mjm forgot about that incident.

You can ask nonwing bill who had season tickets for the Hornets and does for the Thunder, I was anti-pro basketball when the Hornets were here. Was like "Yeah, whatever." But I watched them on Cox 7 all the time and you could tell they just needed experience and as the season wore on they got better and better.

Now they are studs.

I just don't see that with the Thunder right now. Nothing crisp on their passes, terrible shot selections and defense for only one half. Maybe a change in coaching will change the mindset.

As far as the Sooner are concerned Brandon. I would have thought you were talking about the OU women. That rookie, Warren I think his name is, is one stud for a freshman and appears to be what the OU men have needed. Now they are back fun to watch instead of playing second fiddle to the women and Sheri Coale, who isn't taller then my neck but one beautiful laldy.

Dirtrack34 is right, now you can watch the big boys in the NBA come to OKC and not have to travel to watch them.

but what good is it REALLY?

once the opposing team gets up by 30 early in the 2nd half - they bench all of their starters anyway.

you really dont get to see the stars in their prime against a team like the thunder - just a bunch of pull up jumpers and 3's. none of the constant spectacular plays over the course of a FULL game - playing the thunder is the closest you can get to a night off without actually having one lol.
