Is this a bad dream or did we not go through this once before? I'll admit it looks nicer than the last version but it will probably end up being too fast and aerodynamic so they will have to choke down the engine like the Nationwide cars (no passing).

I sure some of the teams that invested the money they did in those boat anchors would like to see them make a comeback.

I seen something like this at the fall Kansas Speedway Nascar race about 3 years ago. Why is USAC trying to reinvent the (pavement sprint car) wheel? That latest proto-type didn't set the world on fire so why try again? In these tough economical times why would USAC expect owners, drivers or anyone else for that matter to invest their racing budget into buying all new chassis and parts for them? To me USAC should consider raising the pures to spark intrest in the pavement series.

This is a revival of the old Silver Crown speedway cars, but this time they will have their OWN series, call Gold Crown.
This will give the original owners a place to race.
IT IS NOT A SPRINT CAR!!!!!!!!!

at least it looks better than the rental go-kart they had.
If the owners want to invest in them and if promoters want to invest in them fine.
I have serious doubts that they will catch on, but what can I say, I have never witnesses a decent blactop show in the first 61 years of my life.

Looks a lot like my thunder roadster. They could have just as much fun for a lot less money.

I'll say it again, if these new pavement creations eventually lead to the return of the front engine car to the Indy 500 then I am all for it.

Yes they are; patterned after the A. J. Watson Indy cars; 1500 lbs., 1250cc Yamaha air cooled 4cyl. sealed engine; coil overs all the way around; more fun than a guy should be allowed to have.

Weren't Gold Crown cars the first "Indy" cars? Meaning, didn't these type of cars already evolve into Indy cars? Is USAC tring to go retro? Will there be two types of crown cars? So many questions!!

Just to darn bugly . Besides why a roadster ,the following has gotten older and the kids today dont remember them . most indy drivers come up through karts and mazda now . Think about it todays sprint drivers need wins inside of three years to move on or age catches up, ascs and whats left of woo is on a pro level and no longer is a steping stone but its own pro series. I have raced karts and other venues over the last twenty years and the good ones are at indy or glovebox racing . I cant think of any sprinters down south here that have moved on , other than doing well in ascs and a few in usac . this is also a good point on how tough the competition is in open wheel . ps this cars no watson roadster .c

Here's what I DO like
The nose to the tail lines are good
The cage looks a little better, a lot better than the first cobbled up design, that was awful,
the fact that they seem to be trying
What i don't like
Those sidepods are ?
That bumper/spoiler/front wing/fairing or whatever the hell it is needs to go.
What I think it needs,
If you need downforce, just go ahead and put a flat wing on front and a small flat wing on the back. The old roadsters were going to do that eventually with the speeds going up all the time. The sidepods and bumpers make it look like an overgown kiddie bumpercar. Way too watered down in the looks department. It looks like something something really cool that juuuuusssssttttttt didn't quite get birthed out of a brick.
Put a polished/chrome grille in front
raise the back of the cage a little more, give it a little more rake,
Need more options on the nose hood combo so that cars will have their own signature. Yes it matters.
