Alan Barton Motorsports – Brandon's In Vegas!
(Bill W) November 3, 2008 – Sprint car chauffer Brandon Wimmer is in Las Vegas this week as part of the SEMA show. The SEMA show is the premiere automotive specialty products trade event in the world. Brandon will have the Alan Barton Motorsports #7TW sprint car on display in the Hedman Hedders booth in the Racing and Performance area. The show will run this week from Tuesday, November 4 through Friday, November 7 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
Brandon would like to thank all the sponsors that have helped him in 2008, including Hedman Hedders who is working to get back into the sprint cars. "Hedman Hedders is getting back into sprint cars, and they wanted us to bring our car out to display at the SEMA show," says the Fairmount, Indiana driver. "It's quite an honor to be here. From what I've seen so far, it's huge…any kind of company that has anything to do with anything automotive is here!"
Brandon will be signing autographs at the Hedman Hedders booth on Tuesday from 2 to 3 p.m., Wednesday from 10 to 11 a.m. and Thursday from 1 to 2 p.m. "It's a great opportunity," he says. "We've got a great spot here where everyone is walking by. We're right at the entrance to the Racing and Performance area. Hopefully, we can talk to some folks that would like to partner with us next year."
Brandon spent most of the season racing weekly in Iowa at the Knoxville Raceway, but gaining some sponsorship would allow him to pick up some more shows throughout the Midwest in 2009. "Being here and at the PRI show is a big part of that," he says. "You need sponsors to keep going. We're here to solidify things and we're looking towards next year. The people who you really need to connect with are at these shows…you can put a face with a name, so it's a great opportunity."
Brandon will be working hard towards 2009, starting Tuesday. As far as his plans…it depends on sponsorship. "Right now, it's Knoxville, but if we can get someone on board, we'd like to race more, and pick and choose where we run," he states.
Brandon and Alan Barton Motorsports would like to thank the following sponsors for all their help in 2008 and in getting to the SEMA show: Hedman Hedders, K&N Filters, Gaerte Engines, Hoosier Tires, Goodridge, VMAC Racing, Maxim, DMI, Wilwood, Butlerbuilt, Real Racing Wheels, Simpson, Winters, MSD, Tel-Tac, Auto Meter, X-Pert Powder Coating, Red Line Oil, Beck's Tree Farm, HRP Wings, Kenny's Components, KSE, FSR Radiators, Dupont, Fuel Safe, WRT Web Designs.
