The OCRS sprints make their second appearance of the season at Tri-State Speedway in Pocola, Oklahoma in the second annual "Fall Classic". After 4 runner-up finishes, Tulsa's Matt Sherrell scored his first main event win at the 43rd Annual Winter Nationals last Saturday night at Enid Speedway. "I knew we were bound to get one (feature win) sooner or later" exclaimed Sherrell. "This race team has just kept after it all year long and I'm just glad to get this win for my car owners, Don & Pat Carnes".

Rose Oklahoma's Jamie Passmore clinched the 2008 OCRS points championship in exciting fashion at Enid. After being collected in a heat race incident earlier in the night, Passmore was regulated to the B main. He won that to earn a berth in the 25 lap A main event. Passmore started 19th and proceeded to pass 16 cars en-route to a third place finish to lock up the title.

While the the OCRS championship has been decided, there is just a scant 43 points separating Sherrell (who sits second in points) and Danny Smith for the runner-up position. For many drivers this Saturday night, it's all about that $2000 winners purse to cap off an exciting 2008 season. Seven different drivers have won main events this season. Will there be a ninth victor to finish off the OCRS season? Will Sherrell take 2 in a row or will another previous winner reign supreme? This Saturday night will provide all the answers.

Gates open at 2pm for Tri-State Speedways 2nd Annual Fall Classic with hot laps @ 5pm and racing gets underway @ 6pm. For further information contact Barry Grabel: (918) 260-3899 or Tri-State Speedway (918) 436-2914

2008 OCRS feature winners:

Jamie Passmore: 5

Mike Goodman: 4

Danny Smith: 2

Kenneth Walker: 2

Cody Cordell, Rafe Essary, Roy Larkin and Matt Sherrell: 1 each

With the weekend off for our Indoor series, I plan on making the trip over to watch this one. This track always produces some great racing. Should be an exciting night, and the drive over from Tulsa or OKC is all 4 lane and smooth going.

Let's 'Go Racing !

Neighbors was running good, but wouldn't say he had them beat. Matt Sherrell was faster. It was just starting to get interesting when Larry broke.
