Half the field runs Thursday and the other half Friday and everyone runs Sat. Sounds like the same set up as last year - only more money....

CCC,

ASCS office hours are 9am to 5pm, if you call during that time there's always someone around.

As for STN format, exactly the same as last year...

It was $20,000 to win last year, this year its only $15,000 to win. Its not more money for the winner.

OK, this needs a bit of clarification at this point:

- The '07 STN paid $20,000/win and $2,000/start as it was the 20th anniversary, but the race the past several years prior to it paid $15,000/win.

-The '07 race ended up paying approximately $106,000 total purse, althought the total purse was not advertised.

-The '08 event, although it reverts back to $15,000/win; the start money increases to $2,100 and the guaranteed total purse is now advertised, and is in excess of $100,000.

-The COMP Cams Challenge has been replaced by the COMP Cams Gambler's Challenge, which gives the pole sitter (or outside pole sitter, if refused by pole sitter) the opportunity to start 10th and if they win a bonus of $5,000.

-I will find out tomorrow if the Short Track Shootout sponsor is coming through or not, which will add another $6,000. If the sponsor does not happen, regardless, the posted purse is still in excess of $100,000; so it's basically the same as last year.
