NCRA Adds Southern SportMods for 2009
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - September 22, 2008 - Park City, Kansas - As the series is four races away from closing out their 38th consecutive season of sanctioning races throughout the Plains, officials with the O'Reilly/National Championship Racing Association have announced plans to expand operations for the 2009 race season with the addition of the NCRA Southern SportMods. Also, the series has officially announced the addition of the NCRA/Oklahoma modified division with current NCRA modified rules adopted, with the exception of tires. NCRA president C Ray Hall is currently in discussion with Hoosier and the tire rule will be announced soon.
The IMCA type Southern SportMods have grown tremendously in the Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas region as the cost of regular modified type racing keeps escalating. The new NCRA Southern SportMod series will see no more than ten to twelve races in the 2009 season, with purse and payout to be announced at a later date.
Official Southern SportMod rules will become available on the series official website http://www.ncraracing.org/ within the next couple of days.
