That was one of the worst crashes I have seen at Eldora! Scary! Glad it was only a broken arm!

I agree... that was DEFINITELY one of the worst crashes I have seen in the last 20 years at Eldora...

Meyers dove low to get around somebody, bumped wheels with Haud, Meyers turned left into the wall at full speed going into one, head-on into wall, flipped back dwon across the track, Dollansky hit him while flipping, Dollansky started flipping after hard impact on the right side of the car, then Tim Shaf. spun/gentel flip to keep from hitting Dollansky...

argh...

Get well soon Dollansky!!!

I wish Earl still did Eldora's track prep.

Wicked crash it was forsure.I was very surprised to see Meyers walk away from this he pounded the wall then got a very hard hit ! I was sitting right there in turn one and you could feel the impact in the air along with that terrible mangling metal crunch.

...we were in turn one as well...you are correct, the sight was scary enough, but the sound of the crash was terrifying...I was amazed Meyers was able to walk away as well...

...best wishes to Craig Dollansky...

Craig Dollansky Medical Update

Rossburg, OH— September 20, 2008—Craig Dollansky suffered a compound fracture in his upper right arm on Friday night in the Advance Auto Parts World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series event at Eldora Speedway, after being involved in a wicked wreck in turn one with Jason Meyers and Tim Shaffer on the 24th lap of the 30-lap event.

Dollansky was taken to a local hospital before being transported to the Dayton, Ohio hospital, where he was set to undergo surgery on his right arm this afternoon. The recovery time is expected to be six to eight weeks.

I hope Craig's surgery goes well and everyday is progress. I have to agree...Tatnell not the best choice. Not sure why Wayne Johnson wasn't given a chance. He would have been a much better choice. Maybe he was given the choice and couldn't for some reason so they went to Tatnell as plan B --- who knows... That would make more sense from a business perspective. But, ya just never know how these decisions are made.
