Joe Beaver needing help to finish tripBy ASCS Northwest Region Media
It was family that brought Joe Beaver out to the Northwest.
Now, Beaver needs the racing family to help him finish the trip.
Beaver, a weekly Sprint car racer at Knoxville Raceway in Iowa , left this week to make it to Grays Harbor Raceway in Elma , Wash. on Friday for the second annual Fred Brownfield Memorial.
The American Sprint Car Series Northwest Region event takes place Friday and Saturday. It honors the late GHR promoter Fred Brownfield, who was killed at the track in 2006.
Beaver is married to Joanne Cram, Brownfield's niece. Beaver raced in the event in 2007 when the event got delayed until September, and made it Baker City, Ore. Thursday afternoon when the transmission went out in his Ford dually tow rig.
Beaver is towing a gooseneck trailer which contains his 360 Sprint car, but is stranded about eight hours shy of his final destination.
Anyone who can help is asked to call 425-501-0920.
