yeah our strength is real apparent to iran, russia, venezuela. its sad to see my country being effectively punked - because the shoot from the hip fools leading us - and reliance on foreign oil that cannot come to end - we are not nearly as strong in bargaining.

i think it dumb that people are subscribing to the "more american oil for americans". because any oil we drill goes to a global market. we cant keep all we drill for ourselves - because if we are nit sharing ours with everyone else - why should they share theirs with us. so they'll cut down what comes to us so drastically - that in order for us to still get it - we would have to be going through other countries. and it would cost more.

the notion that offshore drilling helps anything is pandering. they are banking on people beign stupid enough to believe it - even though every intelligent report in the entire world (including republican and conservative conclusions) - adamantly states it wont help a thing. mccain himself states its biggest impact is pyschological. LOL - do you know what the really means in light of what the truth is? it wont really help anything - it will just make you THINK it is - and i will benefit and get elected because of it.

and liberal media doesnt decide presidential elections. Fox News did 8 years ago. the idea of liberal media is a myth. face it - newspapers print what sells - what is popular. that helped to get us into the war of extortion (iraq) - the administration was popular - there were no shortage of damning things to report/question - but the winf wasnt blowing that way. the administration succeeded at the time - of creating an atmosphere to where if you even questioned their actions or motives - it was unpatriotic. fast forward to now - public sentiment is massively against the administration - so the media reports from that direction. it is what sells. its not so much ever about our media telling outright lies - in truth - its far more important what our media tends to LEAVE OUT or NOT REPORT. we found out in 2000 what a few phone calls to your buddies at a right wing extremist news station can do for 1 person - and also the bad it can do for an entire country and its people.

as for the economic issues - which i find to be most important - or should be - to ever american. i dont agree with any of your archaic assertions. instead of picking them apart - i;ll just say that whats happenig on wall street now - bear stearns, fannie mae, freddia mac, AIG, merril lynch, all of these - are proof that there needs to be more regulation. these companies were basically gambling with other peoples money - and lost out. but yet the government - with our money - bails em out. the volume is so massive i agree we almost had to bail them out or risk far worse consequence to the economy - but it should never have happened in the first place. everyone was against regulation - especially republicans - as they said it was big governing attempts from the democrats - well for those with a brain - the reds are eating crow right now. because the result is the government took an even BIGGER role and bailed all these corporations out.

if youve been paying any attention at all - there is a huge disparity in the common sense not only between these candidates - but the parties they represent. its not just statements made by the 2 - but the voting records of both parties as a whole. when one uses a little time along with reason and looks at that - it becomes crystal clear who best reps american citizens, who is elitist, who is out of touch. the parties speak for themselves to most. but event he candidates - when asked the line between middle and upper class. one responds with 5 million (wtf?) and the other with 250,000. i thought that spoke volumes. but those who support divisive issues that are nowhere near as important as our economy or energy crisis - tend to ignore that....

just look at their response to the oil crisis. i cant say obama's pefect. but mccain is so completely out of touch its sad. its a fact that drilling can only help us so much. i think most agree it needs to be done - but the red campaign trumps it as the answer to the problem - which is dumb. that cant be the only answer. alternative energies have to get much more focus than they do now. which - as mccain loves the tax breaks or big oil - consistently votes against tax breaks for things like wind power. just because he says its a good idea and puts picture of wind powe fields in his campaign adds - doesnt change the truth. with offshore drilling as the ONLY focus - the reds are using our crisis as a way to get more contracts and money to their golfing buddies...

The majority of Americans "smelled a rat" for decades on that and it became so apparent by the way the Sam Donaldsons of the "news" world treated Ronald Reagan that enough became enough. So in a world where a documented 80% of the media votes left, little Sean Hannity, Fox News, and a group of right-minded newcomers who DON'T GET public funds for their shows are putting out the other side of the story and it just p--ses the left side off!

We're not the uneducated ones. We're smart enough to check out anything Limbaugh or Hannity says (in context by the way) just like we'll check out anything said by Oberlin and Mathews ( "got a tingle up my leg" -- parden me while I puke! ) on CNBC or Katy on CBS. The View's not even on the radar screen!

I only wish that while we're filling the heads of 18-year old voters with Farenheit 911 that we also make them watch HBO's John Adams, Patriot and Hanoi Hilton -- then give them a quiz to make sure they were paying attention and not texting their girlfriend before we let them vote!

Your "real" inconvenient truth is that it no longer matters what these candidates say or do from here on out IF we're going to vote intelligently. Shows that McCain can study the current events and make informed decisions based on the " FACTS" at hand and not carry over a failed policy from another war and attempt to impose it on another. Troops Deployed Abroad Give 6:1 to Obama

According to an analysis of campaign contributions by the nonpartisan Center for Responsive Politics, Democrat Barack Obama has received nearly six times as much money from troops deployed overseas at the time of their contributions than has Republican John McCain, and the fiercely anti-war Ron Paul, though he suspended his campaign for the Republican nomination months ago, has received more than four times McCain's haul.

Despite McCain's status as a decorated veteran and a historically Republican bent among the military, members of the armed services overall -- whether stationed overseas or at home -- are also favoring Obama with their campaign contributions in 2008, by a $55,000 margin. Although 59 percent of federal contributions by military personnel has gone to Republicans this cycle, of money from the military to the presumed presidential nominees, 57 percent has gone to Obama.

I want my last words to be "damn this is fun"

Alot of us see it that way. I remember saying the Pledge of Allegiance. In it we say..."one nation under God indevisible" or undevided. Seems our nation has devided into two rediculous political parties. Where are we headed? I'll be voting for the guy makes an effort to tell me what he'll be doing to take of our devided country best he can given the circumstances that we are in right now. I only hope that i can see it clearly by then. I hope the people of this great nation can see it clearly by then.

McCain voted against an amendment to close corporate tax loopholes in order to increase veterans' medical services funding by $1.5 billion. In April 2006 McCain joined only 13 other senators in voting against an amendment to increase funding for the Department of Veterans Affairs for outpatient care and treatment of veterans. This amendment provided a paltry $430 million compared to the billions of dollars being spent each week in Iraq, yet McCain opted to vote against it.

Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America gave McCain a grade of D for his record of voting against veterans (Obama got a B+), while the Disabled Veterans of America gave McCain a 20% vote rating. The Vietnam Veterans of America compiled a list of key votes, and found McCain voted against the group’s position 15 times and with the group eight times. (Obama, in contrast, voted with the VVA 12 times, and against it only once.)

His neglect of veterans goes on and on. Most recently in May of 2008 McCain spoke out against the updated GI Bill being sponsored by Virginia Sen. Jim Webb.

On the day of the vote McCain was not present, a convenient way to avoid criticism over his promised oppositional vote. The biggest injustice to those who worked so hard to make this bill a reality came when President Bush praised McCain for his work on this legislation.

Every American should appreciate and honor the service that Sen. McCain gave to our country during Vietnam. There is no doubt John McCain supports the war in Iraq.

It doesn't mean he supports the veterans who served.
