velocity speed report
9/13/2008 petaluma
saturday september 13th found the cv fabricators/maclac paints/mtl manufacturing/stud welding products/escalon body shop racing team in petaluma for another round of civil war action.
the night started out with qualifying where the chuck cypert wrenched kaeding performance center/charlie fisher powered sprinter driven by myles bishop would turn a lap of 12.641 around the 3/8 mile track, good for 4th quick time of the night.
the weather started to cool down as heat race time arrived and the crew went to work getting ready for the 4th heat, myles would start 3rd row out side in the 10 lap affair.
the initial start was called back due to a early start by the pole sitter, the penalty for this being sent to the last row.
myles raced through the tough conditions often blinded by the setting sun to get 3rd place and transfer to the A-main.
myles started the main inside second row when the green flag was thrown the field ran into turns 1-2 where contact sent myles spinning into the infield, myles recovered and pulled to the outside groove waiting for the inpending caution flag.
the caution didnt come out in a timely manner as half the field was allowed to get past the flag man before the yellow came out, what happen next was both scary and preventable as myles was struck by another car still running wide open 3/4 of lap after he got spun out.
once myles was check out the crew went to the work area and started repairing the car and sent myles back into the race, upon the restarting the race another incident happen and the yellow flag was thrown and the car behind myles ran inot myles right rear tire puncturing it.
myles would go to work area again and repairs were done and the racer sent back into action where myles would fight for a final finish of 17th.
thank you again for your support and see you at our next race which is september 20th at watsonville

I'm glad he's OK. That was a helluva hit. The flag definetely should have been thrown earlier

Blaming the flagman is wrong in this instance.
The car did a 360 into the infield and drove back out onto the racing surface and stopped. If the 7 spins and stops, then the yellow is called for.
