Tuesdays with TMAC – Victory at East Bay!!!(Bill W) – January 30, 2007 - It was a successful beginning to the race season for Terry McCarl in last weekend's "Ronald Laney King of the 360's". The magic between TMAC and Mark Burch Motorsports continued with a win in Friday's (Jan. 26) preliminary feature event in rim riding, exciting fashion!
"Winning Friday was the highlight of the weekend," said McCarl. "It wasn't so much the win, as the way we won. While everyone was on the bottom, we were on top, riding around them. We put on a show for the fans, and they are what it's all about!"
Terry bested 73 of the best in the 360 business. In the feature event, Terry had settled into third, before shooting around three-time and defending ASCS champion, Gary Wright, on the high side with five laps to go. TMAC then performed his winning pass over race leader, Travis Rilat, with two to go to capture the popular win.
After the race, McCarl was ecstatic, "How awesome was that? To beat a couple of racers like Gary and Travis in a race like that on a track like this, it's a real testament to my car owner Mark Burch and the car he puts me in to race!"
The win coupled with a strong third place finish on Thursday night, a night in which he also won his heat race from row three, locked TMAC into Saturday's $10,000 to win finale. The 2006 "King of the 360's" would cross the line fifth in that event.
TMAC and the rest of the team will now unleash the "big iron", as the winged 410's take to East Bay Raceway tonight (Jan. 30), Thursday (Feb. 1) and for $10,000 to win finale on Saturday (Feb. 3). Keep up to date with TMAC's latest results at www.TerryMcCarl.com.
