It was so refreshing to hear Bobby Gerould on the mic at Calistoga. At most tracks I'd just prefer they just shut the thing off. I damn near forgot that an announcer can add more to a race then just the driver and sponsors names. Lately I'm hearing guys on the mic who show more passion in getting fans involved in the wave or doing the YMCA then they are in the actual race.

Bobby's dad was the best I have ever heard at a race track. He was always on top of the action during a race and informed fans on what was going on behind the scenes. I sure miss him in the both at the Gold Cup... Bobby has that same skill and passion if not more. Johnny Gibson is another one of the few that actually adds to the race.

Thanks for putting Bobby in the booth at Stoga!

For what it's worth, Dennis Gage has been the announcer at Chico for as long as I can remember and recently stepped down to focus on other things. He and Gary Gerould (Bobby's father) sound remarkably similar on the microphone.

Thank You Bobby. You gave that exciting play by play that I remember as a kid.

Great Job!

Chad
