And then all you limited-sport mod drivers can load up on certain Saturday nights throughout the year and race the new NCRA sport mod series, based soley here in the state of Oklahoma.

Just a shameless plug you know.

So what are the chances that NCRA will expand their Sprint races in to Oklahoma as well?

I don't see that happening as most OK tracks are ASCS tracks. Lanny supports Emmitt's series. All of the tracks that used to run a lot of NCRA's are now shut down or are predominately fendered tracks.

the hoosier 500 is the i.m.c.a. tire for this class!

I agree with David, then we all could run the N.C.R.A. series here in oklahoma!!!

Lets just hope that SFS will do the right thing. I dont know any of the people that run that place but it seems like common sense to only do what the others are already having success with!!!!

Common sense in regards what is the best to do and Lanny are two things that are not related.

I think anybody planning on running a Limited Mod at SFS should get together {Maybe with the ORA} and give Lanny a set of rules which "YOUR" going to run. Dont let him kiill your class before it's even here. You'll end up with a car you can only run at Lawton and SFS and not much hope for out of town cars either.

Granted I do not know much about the SIMS rules without looking them up. The people I have talked to about the Ltmd mods at the fairgrounds next year have told me that Lanny is thinking about allowing a 9 inch to be ran.

Here is the rules for a SIMS car. http://www.txlmracing.com/lm_rules.htm

Here is the Devils Bowl rules for a Ltmd mod. http://www.devilsbowl.com/rules.html It is a Pdf file so you will have to download it.

Without breaking both of the rules down line by line I see that SIMS allows a claim whereas Devils Bowl does not.

Yes and be sure they run engine, tire & chassis rules that are unique to Okla City SFS ONLY. That way you can get that idea of running SFS on Friday & somewhere else sat or Sunday out of your minds.

Compatability with other tracks ??????

What the Hell do you people think you're doing ?? Trying to make sense ?????

HA !

Well just to be blunt and truthful about the whole limited modified rules situation at SFS. If the promoter doesnt coincide with the Elk City and Enid rules, then he would not be very smart. Big deal if his cars are legal to run lawton and SFS, they wouldn't be legal to run anywhere else!!! Doesn't make sense to me, especially with the N.C.R.A Series coming to Oklahoma next year. I have talked to several different track promoters and they all are on board, it would be a shame if SFS was left out of the loop. Would he do this to accomodate a few drivers? I don't know the answer to that but if that is true, then it would be very sad.

I can tell you right off the top that ford 9in. isn't allowed in limited modifieds and there is good reason for it. Well, I guess only time will tell if SFS will be hosting any decent limited modified shows next year. Elk City had a $2,000.00 to win show this year and Enid had a $2,500.00 to win show! i would say that both had really decent car counts but better than that, the racing action was unbelievable!!! So good that I'm sure that we will see both tracks hold the same types of races next year and I believe they will only be better! It would be a very sad day if SFS missed out on this oppurtunity!!!

These are only my opinions but I believe in them very strongly and again I willsay that UNITY always WINS!!!!!

Jaydad I dont know how long you have been on this board and I am in no way calling you out or anything like that. Although, have you seen the posts about how Lanny will help Lanny? I had some business dealings with him in the past and he seemed to be an ok guy at the time but as I get deeper and deeper into the soap opera that is SFS I am starting to think Lanny is in this for him.

I have been in a mod pit, and champ sprint pit under the Lanny reign as promotor and I have to say it is not any better from the beginning as it is now. When Holtz, I know he is no Lanny, was here there was a feeling going around the super sprint pit that he did not like the supers coming in from Kansas b/c he had to pay them. The feeling was he wanted the sprints to die so he did not have to pay them as much as he did. I get the same feeling with Lanny.

If you look at the number that the Texas tracks are bringing in with the SIMS mods it is crazy. What I have heard is that they have anywhere to at least 30 cars a night. IMO that will not ever happen at SFS b/c that is too many cars for Lanny to pay out. You look at the factory stocks when Lanny took over they were avg what over 35 to 40 cars a week and now you are looking at 10 to 15 maybe and three of those cars are related.

I am not calling for Lanny's head but in order for a beginner series to flourish such as the Ltmd mod's there has to be a promotor in there that is wanting the best for the driver instead of what is best for his pocket book. We all know ,at least the ones that have had many years under the badge SFS, that if you do not put some type of claimer or a strict engine rule then in 5 to 10 years you are looking for another class b/c the cost has gone nuts for this so called beginner class.

sad ------ and very very very very very true..............sounds like something he would do too. if he ran what everyone else did ------ all drivers would start wandering why they keep subjecting themselves to his BS antics - and go somewhere else...........

in the end - unless he changes his attitude at least for somewhat a better turn ------- nothing he touches will turn to gold - it will turn to poo eventually.

poo. theres the word of the day lol...........

I have only been on this board for a few months and I have seen all the comments about Lanny. I just won't make comments because I don't know him. What I do know if you bring in a new class and its supporting the rest with its car count, then you should pay them accordingly. Examples; Elk City pays their limited mods 350.00 to win and Enid pays 400.00 to win, this is at their regular weekly shows. I promise this class is growing faster than any other class in this region. This is why it is so important for all the promoters to keep with in the same rules, there are some big shows( throughout the racing season) that have big payouts and all the drivers want to be equal at these shows. Enid and Elk City do have motor claims and some very precise techs. They keep everyone in the same ballpark. That is why they have been so successful. I know on several nights this year, Enid has had more than 30 limiteds show up to race!!!!

As far as the comment about mini stocks, ouch, I would hope that no one runs the headache giving class any more. Sounds like a bunch of chainsaws running around the track,LOL LOL

Seriously, I'm sure the SFS promoter will do what is best for his track or at least I hope he would.

I feel that they should run Elk City-Enid rules also, which are IMCA type rules simply because guys from Elk and Enid goes to IMCA sanction tracks in Texas for the big races without having to have a bunch of changes to go. All any of them have to do is change gears depending on track size and go race. and be competitive with all the others that show up.

We've been to Waco and they had a car count of 86 Sports Mods last year for their Super Nationals, the best of the best goes there every year and it is awesome.

Amarillo, Lubbock, Ark-la-teck, Tyler, Greenville, ect. all run the same rules. Way more Texas tracks run by the IMCA type rules than the Sims rules. Bigger car counts also.

I feel that if there is going to be a NCRA series for these cars then all should be compatible with whats already established as the standard for these cars....... Ardmore also runs the same rules as Elk and Enid do. And having a place to go race on Friday night has been something that alot of Elk drivers have been waiting for.

Enid and Elk have a big car count, and we have gone to Lawton and raced too, when Elk is rained out or not running......

Get the rules in line with the norm and they will come.... big car counts... side by side racing..... equal motors..... excitement for the fans.... Our fans here love this class on any given night anyone can win.... but you have to tech the crap out of them to keep it equal.

Well Helen that is the problem is the teching. Lanny has never been known to be a very good person as far as tech.

I agree with everything you said but it is what it is.

You are exactly correct on every point!!!! I really hope that SFS looks at this and listens! We took our car all the way to aztec, nm earlier this year and was under the same set of rules that we race at Enid!!! Now that is truly nice to know, especially if your going to a track that you have never been too!!!!!

Please do the right thing SFS and bring this class in to your track but under the right set of rules. The growth will blow you away, the racing will be unreal, and the fans will pack the house to see it!!!!

What else could you ask for?

If Lanny had 86 ltmds mods in the pits on a Friday night he would have a heart attack.

If you think Lanny wants less cars in the pits then you dont know Lanny. More cars = more money
