Actually most horses are not bothered by powersports equipment. I have a photo of motorcycle races on a mile track when they ran both the horses and the motorcycles during the same event. Horses with Jockeys are standing on the front straight as the bikes are going by, waiting for their turn to go race on the same mile track. Circa 1935.
Majority of ranches and farms use UTV and ATVs.

A little history of the series.
AMP stands for Action Motorsports Productions, we have been producing motorsports events since 1974, we are the longest running motorcycle/atv Dirtrack race series in Oklahoma. The first indoor champions were crowned during our 1984 Budweiser Turnpike Challenge Series which ran in Oklahoma City at the Fairgrounds, Tulsa Pavillion at Expo Square and at Kellyville in the Creek County Fairgrounds buildings. Nine rounds on dirt and the final round held at the Tulsa State Fairgounds EXPO Square in the Tulsa Pavillion on polished concrete using Coke Syrup. Texan Billy Herndon won the first season, the late Ted Boody took the honors in '86 and repeated in '87, Boody later lost his life in a racing accident at the famous Ascot Park in California. www.tedboody.com The late Randy Cleek. from nearby Shawnee, Oklahoma was the first rider to win a pro race held at the historic OK Corral Indoor Arena in 1974. Cleek and others including the onwer/sponsor of Bell Ray oil were killed in a traffic accident in Spain while driving from the road race track there during an international event. www.randycleek.com
No rider has won the championship more than twice, howver a two generation team of Danny and Brandon Cartwight have won three motorcycle expert championships. Danny twice and his son Brandon once. Brandon Miller and Lonnie Eubanks have won two championships each in the Quad Expert Division.
The AMP Outlaw Winter Nationals races were held on a regional circuit in Tunica, MS; Ft Smith, AR; McAlester, OK; Claremore, OK; McKinney, TX; Stillwater, OK and Harrah, OK. But the high cost of energy created cutbacks on folks travel budgets so the home base of Harrah was choosen due to the high concentration of population and the fact that it sits smack dab in the middle of Oklahoma off of two major Interstate highways, I-40 which is 4 miles south of the building and I-35 which is 15 miles west of the building.

The late Pete Frazier won one of the Budweiser Turnpike Challenge races riding a Honda ATC 3-Wheeler, Suzuki had not introduced their 4-wheel ATV yet. Frazier died during the Summer Sizzler Micro Sprint Race held at Ft Cobb, Oklahoma 9 years ago. Cacy Carpenter took the honors the following season riding the first ever 4-Wheeler in competition at the event. He is the son of the late Johnny White and his lovely wife Joey White, who owned Tulsa Suzuki at the time. Next Race Saturday night October 25th at the OK Corral Indoor Arena - Harrah, OK
Kickstandz Motorcycle Shop in Mcloud, Oklahoma is the sponsor. It is Bike Night, all bikers riding into the races to watch admited for just $5 bucks at the gate, general admission grandstands only. Regular admission is $15 adults, kids 5 - 16 $5, under 5 free. Pit Pass $20 All Ages.
