Last night was some of the best open wheel racing i have seen in a long time. That was also my first time i have seen the non wing sprinters, I am hooked. I think they put on a better show with out the wings. And the 22 sprinter from OKC did a great job running with the big boys. Great car count great show.

If you ran the exact race with wings and the usual ASCS guys I couldn't have seen a difference. I think our little wing show is the best around.

Love the wings. Like the non-wings better. They look like they're tough to handle, and for the fan, that's a lot of fun to watch.

With the exception of the track.... last nights show was great! The racing was excellent! If I saw more non-wing shows, I might be more of a sprint car fan. I think they put on a better show than their winged counter parts. Not that I don't enjoy the winged sprints... I just felt they put on a better show and were more exciting to watch without the wings. The mods were exciting too! I feel that I actually got my moneys worth. Shhhh... don't tell Lanny wouldn't want him to raise the price. Ha ha.
I like dirt!

lol. I think I kind of misstated that. With the track the way it was it looked like every other show when the bottom is made into a pond hours before a race. Just imagine what kind of race we would have had with one of those completely dry tracks we had a month ago. Anyway I love non-winged racing as it is fun to watch, but the track last night was one lane, just like the usual special shows at SFS.
And congrats to Koby on his great run!

With one more yellow and perhaps another 2-3 laps, I think Darland might've won the thing. Shoulda, coulda, woulda.

I, too, enjoyed the racing, and congrats to Koby Barksdale for his "best in class" finish. I Like the non wing sprints much better and it was good to see so many of the big names in the sport last night. The Daily Disappointment has an article today, and makes a big deal about how slow the cars are without wings. I watched some of the heat race times, and saw most of the races that ran green all the way were finished in just over 2 minutes, and at least 1 that was under. Those times are comparable to the winged Super sprints. So, while they are not as fast as ASCS or Outlaws, they sure aren't slow, and they put a premium on driver skills over raw power. To me, that makes Koby's 4th place in a 360 even more impressive.

Easy David. I know your readin this. Your wings are gonna survive though. lol Great show with exception to the track condition. Again, track contributed to alot of tore up racecars. Hope it's as exciting to watch at Creek tonight. See ya there.

The sprints and the mods were very entertaining last night and lots of fun to watch! And I was glad to see the high car count in both classes.
Koby Barksdale was very impressive as well. Running his 360 against the 410s proved the point that driver ability is a big factor in racing. Good job Koby.

The crowd was pretty impressive, newspaper said 6,000. The fun part was the crowd got INTO it!! Doesn't matter who they cheered for or booed, as long as the crown was part of the EVENT.
Honestly in the late 60's & early 70's an average Friday night crowd was 9,000 to 10,000 & man were they vocal. It's just more fun to have crowd input.

The sprinters put on one of the best shows I have seen at SFS and I have been going a long time. The only thing that would have made it better would have been if Kruseman hadn't got taken out in the heat race. He is one of the best around and it would have been great to have seen him get to run all night.
It looked like to me, it was a very dumb move that took him out, but what do I know. I just wish we could have got to see him run.
SFS seems to have gone back to the good old days lately. With Kyle Merriman slidding to a stop at
the finish line and jumping out, made be think about the Flying Dutchman of the past.
It is probably a good thing the Modifieds are off tomorrow night, because I think half of the crew chiefs got barred from the race track. I am not sure who started it first , but if a track official pushes you first, does the official get barred for two weeks?

See what y'all have been missing?
Traditional sprint car racing is still the best form of motorsports around. And, from my perspective, last night's show was just "good", not great.
Long live real sprint cars.

I'm with Nonwing Bill on this one too! Non wing racing is by far better. The Knoxville Midget Nationals on the 1/2 mile were even good. Passing all over the feild of cars with several cars going from the back to the front. You cant say that about the 360 or 410 Nationals.
Lets realy get things going at SFS...Time to make the Champs Non Wing. That would give us 2 completly different type of sprint classes! I know I would build one if they did that. I know as my kids progress in their racing carrer, they will be preparing for non wing racing, via non wing mini sprints and midgets.
Money isn't everything, but it sure keeps your kids
close!

I know of a couple of champ drivers that would take the wing off.

A wingless sprint class at SFS would go a long way to luring me back to the track as a spectator.

Great idea. I really miss the ole non wings on the quarter mile. No more factorys...replace with limited modifieds and make the champs non-wing, then we're talking about a race show!
