Theres alot of talk goin around about how gas prices are effecting racing. Is this truly a problem with racers. Or is poor track conditions and rough racing the reason tracks are losing car?

For me, the price of racing fuel (methanol) has been more of a burden than the fuel for my truck to get to the track. Thankfully though, the price of gas and diesel has been steadily dropping over the last two weeks. The price of diesel at the three stations near my house is under $4/gal for the first since it went up several months ago.
I was in Houston yesterday. There were two stations on adjacent corners staging a price war. One was at $2.69/gal, and the other was at $2.73/gal.
Good sign of things to come. Hopefully........

One of the reasons I enjoy driving my mini-stock is the fuel prices. Even though it still cost me almost $8 a gallon for 110 after I mix it w/ 91 I still only need about 3 gallons a night. I know my cousin is going through probably 10 gallons of methanol, wouldn't want to have to do that. Cost me about another $20 to make the haul. I think fuel prices will hurt people until they get better adjusted to the cost. The true die hard racers will find a way to afford it.
