I spoke with Judd this morning-he does not mind me sharing this with all of you.
Helen and Judd (parents) as well as Michele (Jeff's GF) are still in Iowa. Jeff is still in critical condition. From the discussion I had with Judd, Jeff has a hard road ahead of him. They have been keeping him sedated pretty heavily.
It seems like there ups and downs every day, but he was injured more seriously than I thought. Judd compared Jeff's crash to Kevin's - and I sincerely pray that the outcome is not the same...
For those of us who are part of the racing community, we all understand the situation that Jeff and his family are facing.
Anyway, Judd requested that cards be sent to the Shepard Garage and he will see that they get to Jeff...

For those of us who sent cards to the family already, he will go by to pick them up. But, for the meantime, no one is there since they are with Jeff in Iowa and sending them to the shop would be more convenient.
Again, keep the family in your prayers, and support the YCRC Injured Racers Fund.

Reminds me of the Curtis Boyer deal a few years back - and amazingly Curtis went on to race another day. Best wishes and prayers for Jeff and family from the racing family in Northwest Ohio!

Swamp.... With Jeff being one of the top All Star drivers over the last decade I was hoping the All Stars could help him out. As a friend of Jeff's I was wondering if you could help me. I want to help out, but since I'm in Indy I can't do much on either front, whether it be at the hospital in Des Moines or in Maryland helping with necessary duties and chores that could be done for him and his family at the current time.
Since you work for the All Stars and I live in Indy I was wondering if we could get the drivers to pass the helmets for Jeff at the Hoosier Fall Classic in a few weeks. I was disappointed the drivers didnt get into the stand at Knoxville on Saturday night.
Lets help out Jeff he really needs ALL of our support and prayers.

Bear -- are you coming up to the Butler All Star Show on the 23rd? Maybe we can put something together to raise some funds there. Like you, I'm kinda feeling helpless at this point too.

Hey, Bear. I'm not "officially" working for the All Stars anymore, but I do work behind the scenes these days. Let me talk to Guy and see what we can do. I'll be down at the Waynesfield race tomorrow night - I'll talk to some folks about it...not sure what the crowd will be like, but maybe they could take up a collection there as well. I was one of the ones who helped organize the fund for Curtis Boyer a few years ago - I'll see what I can do for Jeff. I've never met him, but have watched him race for a lot of years. I hope he makes a complete recovery.

Unfortunately, I wont be at Butler. The Fall Classic @ Lawreneceburg will be the next show I will be able to get to. Swamp if there is anything you can do I would greatly appreciate it. Drop me an email and let me know what you find out so if there is anything I need to do I can make sure it happens. Lets see if we can make something happen for the Jet!
