Great looking car! I don't remember this one.
Jeff WAS and still IS a class act... one of my favorites and always someone that was a step away from breaking into the very top rung of the sport.
I love reading his monthly columns... his insight is awesome. Stuff like the article that touched on nitro and it sawing his motor in half at OKC... I love it when drivers let their guard down and tell it like it REALLY was back in the day.

Why can't we still use those size tail tanks? They could make 50 laps at Knoxville.

Looks like a USAC silver crown car.
Adding $6 trillion of debt in his 1st term and now if
elected again he wouldn't have to worry about an
electorate in 2016 so the sky is the limit. And his EPA
would continue to put the screws to oil drilling and
mining for coal. Can you say bankruptcy.

Drivers were the best then, no cookie cutter cars or tracks, ran half their races with no wings.

Amen. Jeffy could have Ford powered his way to the top in 87 and 97 if he would have played his cards right.
Luna's Ford engine style that won 2 WoO titles and 3
Kings Royals before a weight rule against the best EVER
in their prime and now DOMINATES super dirt late model
racing is no longer allowed/wanted in a WoO sprint
car.... Was Luna a miracle worker?

No, to most novice sprint car fans, it most likely looks like a Silver Crown car. First thing you notice is that huge 50 or 60 gallon fuel tank, making it look 15 feet long, like a Silver Crown car, IMO.

Great picture of my all time favorite. Jeff was always great with the fans. When I was a kid I rode my bike down to where Sammy & Jeff were working on their cars in an alley garage in Knoxville. Sammy was the man at the time and was pretty intimidating, nice enough but didn't say or smile much. Jeff sat down and BS'd with us and gave me a couple of parts and a oil pan with some gas and asked if I'd clean them up for them. That was super cool to a 10 or 11 year old. He put on some great runs at Nationals over the years.

Yeah Really!!!!! I like Jeff more than Sammy. Eveytime I ever saw Sammy he never has a smile and don't seem he likes to be bothered. He is all doom and gloom. Jeff on the other hand has a great sense of Humor, is always smiling, and is alway willing to chat with you. In 1998 after an Outlaw Show at the Grove (Jeff was driving the 104 Octane Boost.) my buddy and I saw a few Outlaw teams washing their cars and equipment up at a car wash in Mechanicsburg, Pa. They were Mark Kinser, Brian Paulas, and Jeff Swindell. Long Story Short. Jeff was the only one wanting to talk to us. We offered to help by rolling Rims and tires and a few other things of the truck for them. They welcomed the help because they were all tired and had to race the next Night at Lincoln Speedway. After they were done and we had helped load the car and gear back up. Jeff asked if we were going to be at Lincoln Speedway the following night. We said "And Miss Fast Freddie Winning for his 7th or 8th (i Forget he won 12 that year) week in a row". He chuckled and said not if I have anything to do about it. He then said the Offer is here, but You guys are more than welcome to watch the races from the top of the rig tommrow night if you wish. We never did take him up on the offer, but after that It made me like the guy even more. Not someone I would describe as being a "PUKE"!

Corky's Trick Paint,,,
All the high end AZ (and some west coast)cars of that era had Corky's hand lettering done.
All very classy with always having gold leaf here and there. He never rolled a car out of his paint shop without some gold leaf on it. Sweet!
I'm not she He is still in bizz? Someone from AZ would surely be able to say?
