Other than the 2 ASCS races in Colorado earlier in the year, are there any other sprint car races in that beautiful state? Thanks Jim L

not that I know of. I only know the rocky mountain region ascs races at Thunder Mountain in Olathe. i thought they used to have some up by denver - as well as the rocky mountain midget association (RMMA) - but either nothin else is goin on --------- or whatever is doesnt get the word out a whole lot. as for nearby (depending where on is) ----- there is Hollywood Hills at San Felipe Pueblo in New Mexico. I hear good things about that place. and there is Aztec, NM - I hear some ok things bout them too. i know when ascs RM visits these track they get really good car counts. which is great,

as a matter of fact - someone - i cant remember who at the moment - sent me a message earlier this year giving a wonderful detailed description of sprint car races in that area - as well as the Aztec and Olathe and Hollywood Hills tracks. it was one of the best direct responses i ever got when wandering bout racin out there. maybe they will see this and they could comment. i'm in oklahoma so i dont have the inside track on it. but i am obsessed with the mountain passes, mines, and trails and stuff throughout the state - so i do look at the schedules and results of the 3 tracks i mentioned above - since we go up to ouray ever few years - hollywood hills and aztec are on the way. olathe an hour or 2 north of ouray. and if we are gonna take a 2 week trip next year to ouray - i will make damn sure to time where we can see some sprint races at one or 2 of those tracks.

Well....the "Rocky Mountain West" is the no-man's land of sprint car racing.

I-76 Speedway (Fort Morgan, CO) They used to host an occasional sprint car race....but a count of 5 cars really negated the desire for them to run any more. Nothing scheduled there this year.

Colorado National Speedway (Dacono, CO) Ran sprints for a couple years on the pavement but discontinued the practice this year.

Thunder Mountain Speedway (Olathe, CO) Hosted a two day ASCS show over Memorial Day weekend and has another scheduled for later this year. Don't count on that show coming to fruition...I don't think the owner is going to be able to keep the track running with maybe 75 people in the stands.

Aztec Speedway (Aztec, NM) A good stop for the ASCS as they can pick up 15 cars from NM...and the 10-12 guys from Colorado and Montana that run the series.

Hollywood Hills Speedway (San Felipe Pueblo, NM) Schedules winged and non-winged sprints as well as midgets throughout the season. The track had gone quiet over the last few years but is slowly coming back to hosting more series shows like ASCS and the WoO

Gillette Speedway (Gillette, WY) Hosting the WoO a couple days after Nationals.
