(Chico, CA 7-21-08)...The King of California Golden State 410-sprint car series comes to a close this Friday and Saturday night at Silver Dollar Speedway. The 22-race schedule ends in dramatic fashion with high car counts expected and extra prizes for drivers and fans. On Saturday night, July 26, a new champion will be crowed the King of California on the front straight. The driver to beat is Chico's own Jonathan Allard. Allard won the championship in 2006. If Allard holds on to his lead he will become the series third multi-time champion since the series was conceived in 1987. The other two drivers to win multiple championships are Brent Kaeding and Steve Kent. Trying to close in on Allard will be Los Angeles driver Tyler Walker. Walker trails Allard by 31-points with two nights to go. Adding to the intrigue will be former two-time World of Outlaw driver Sammy Swindell. Swindell will pilot the Chico based Tom Rolfe Trucking #10. Other top entrants will be Brent, Bud and Tim Kaeding of San Jose, Mike Henry of Sacramento and Evan Suggs of Scott's Valley.
