Ah heck, Galen was around when they first started racing at TAFT. Hell, he was there on the streets of OKC when they held a street race back in the 1920's I believe it was.

OKC and MAR-CAR had several very good photographers "back in the day," but I wasn't one of them. Unfortunately, most of the photos aren't even stamped, so I'm not sure who shot what. I was shooting up in PA and NJ in the 60's, and I'll admit it was tougher than shooting that darned land run. Tracks were about equally dusty, though. That street race, in Linwood, was in 1915, by the way, and I couldn't get a pit pass. Think Oldfield was mad at me......

I started shooting at SFS around 1971, working with Earl Mahoney. I left SFS around 1981 and started shooting again many years later at Meeker before returning to SFS. Somewhere I have photos that are stamped with the guys name (can't remember his name at the moment) who shot before Earl. There have been alot of really good photographers at SFS over the years.

Dawes Fisher was the photographer before Earl Mahoney. Found his name on the back of a photo I have of Melvin Rodgers.
