I knew that I had it stored away somewhere. What a great find. I spent the better part of the morning looking for it and also found some other Open Wheel mags as well as a couple of NARC yearbooks circa 1974-75. The collector's first edition (1980) was in great shape surprisingly. Great color photo of a young Steve Kinser, Sammy Swindell and Rick Ferkel. Also a full page color photo of Dean Thompson in action at Ascot. Also a Lee James profile. Any one know what this magazine is worth? I am framing the copy and going up on the wall at the bar along side Tony Jones and the Alexander crew.

I am looking at a race program from Baylands 1983. It reads "Civil War, NARC vs CRA, North vs South" and has Bubby Jones in the famous Gas Chem car, on the cover. Inside it tells that Bubby won two of the first three Civil War titles from 1979-1981 and 3 main events in doing so. On this night at Baylands someone took the time to write down the qualifying times and Bubby was the only driver in the 17's with a fast time of 17.560. Unfortunately, it wasn't noted who won the feature.

I know that Bubby was a USAC National Champion as well as a CRA Champion and he also raced in the Indy 500.

The answer to your question might go.....

A lifetime of race tickets, $5000

Race programs from most of those shows, $600

Issue #1 of a $2 magazine with your hero on the cover, Priceless
