Top 5 1. Jason Johnson 2.Tim Crawley 3. Wayne Johnson 4. Nick Smith 5.Zach Chappell.

Gary Taylor and Travis Rilat started 3rd and 4th but got caught up in a wreck on lap one turn one. Gary Talor was done with a broken front end and Travis Rilat got a new nose wing and started in the back. Gary Wright left his heat race with engin problems. Tried to come out for the B main did one lap and went to the pits. He used a provisional to start the A main and did about 2 laps and went in the pits done for the night. Zach Chappell won the B main. Jason Johnson started on the pole. The track was real dusty after about the first few laps of the A main.

Jason Johnson won from the pole. Tim Crawley second. Wayne Johnson finished third followed by Nick Smith and Zach Chappell. Gary Wright had to use a provisional for the after engine problems in his heat race.

wescoe did. his phone died while trying to fill me in. but he did say they had 29 ascs sprints - 80 cars total. Rafe Essary flipped - landed on his wheels and kept going -(wtf?). Gary Taylor and Travis Rilat crashed on 1st lap. Jason Johnson started pole and led wire-to-wire. Biggest news though is Gary Wright had to take a provisional.

to em that just about sows the 50k championship up - wright would need JJ to miss prob 2 features. just saying Jason Johnson would need a hellacious run of bad luck - which for him usually happens at the beg. of the year as opposed to the end of it. but lawton is still up and that was his curse last year so who knows. JJ looks to do real well before taking to the 410 ranks next year. in line for 50k with ascs - and also in line for 50k with the Ollie's 360 challenge. Him and Schatz are the only 2 eligible for the 50k. schatz has a WoO race that night (august 19th at williams grove). and JJ has turned a lot of laps at and has lots of experience at williams Grove PA - i think he ran the Klein 22 local car up there - which is among the most famous rides in the nation. dont know if he ever ran anything else up there.

but he also won the eldora ollie's race - and doing all this in the Row 41 ascs car. especially in that car - and with his background - he sure has to be feeling good about his chances for 100,000$ - not to mention whatever else he wins along the way...

The flip by Essary in 4 on the last lap of the heat was unbelievable when he landed on his wheels and kept going, it looked like it didn't even touch the wing. On the cool off lap he received a standing ovation from most everybody in the stands.

OKCfan, don't look for Dover or Sather to be there Friday, but should still be the best car count of the week.

Too bad they decided at 7:30!!!!! to re- do the track not once but twice. After that they ran the program non stop without an intermission and only had one B main. That gave Wright about ten minutes after his heat to fix the motor which just wasn't going to happen.

Yeah, I wen't over to check it out and they were pulling the mag out. Looked like it broke either the gear or the pin that holds the gear. Alot of people around so i couldn't tell which.I do know they could turn the rotor about half way around while the mag was still in the engine. They still had something wrong after that because he just took the green and pulled off without making a lap in the A. I'm dragging butt today. Didn't get home til almost 1:00 A.M. But it was worth it. Too bad they had the track screwed up.

1:00am huh. I made it back to Lawton around 2. Well worth it though. Got to hang out with some good friends and see a decent race (for Creek's standards). Good thing was I didn't have to be into work til 10:00.

Oh and the official item that might have coast Gary the championship was a sheared distributor gear pin.

None of you Jackasses rang my phone.

That's ok I'll be in the Leep Camp next time around. I figure that way I'll be closer to the food. And help Alice with the mud scrapping.

The ASCS was born from Creek and it was a great race.  They put on the best show there from anywhere else.  I have seen them all over and this place puts on a show.  It was great to see.  If you missed it, sorry you wasn't there.

lol............

aw i admit i seen some great shows at creek county. far from the best though - prob not even in the top 10 as far as tracks go - for me I mean - all things considered.

but I cannot disagree with the "born there" statement. reason being Hahn owned the track - i think was the only one he owned - at least at the inception of ASCS in 92 (or was it 93)............. but anyways - the tulsa area was kind of a staple of ascs races through those beginning years. but then again -------- look at the schedule the first few years --------- hell ever since the beg. - they been all over the place. but yes i'm pretty sure there have been many a ascs race at creek. if I'm wrong ----- disclaimer - - - i'm not really for sure. but with that being Hahn's track - and him starting ascs -------- ok.

Porter - for such an extensively traveled and hardcore racefan - it seriously doesn;t get much hardcore than JD - still never seen the Knoxville Raceway. i've only seen prob 25% - hell prob less than that - the # of tracks JD has seen - but its hard to imagine a better overall racetrack than Knoxville. everything about it is just amazing. JD u need to get up there while the nat's are still good - before gas ruins em. this year we weren't plannin on goin to the 360's - but they have over 80 entered with still a couple weeks to go so it looks like there will be near 100. may try to scrape something together last minute. but if not - the 360's and Brodix will be live on the net to WATCH - thats pretty cool. back to the point - its not like JD schnides Knoxville - instead he opts for Pennsylvania most years. which is prob the best alternative there is. speaking of which JD - when are ya'll goin to PA? aint it comin up?

CCC, The WoO was as they call it was "Born" at Da Bowl but they don't even frequent the place anymore, Just kind of thought that statement of the ASCS at Creek is "best show of anywhere else" is stretchin it a bit.

CCC , I am sure Knoxville is everything everyone has told me it is , all the hoopla and so on, but take me to Williams Grove on a regular Friday night show , cross over the blue bridge on the back straight and into the pit area stand up on a trailer entering turn 1 and watch'em carry the RF down the straightaway into turn 1 or as we did last year sit in turn 3 with the Beerhill Gang and the same effect is seen from the back straightaway too.

Would like to go to Knoxville this year , know someone who will go and run the 360 deal from this area and that would be great to see.

Going to Pa. in the middle of August to see the Grove , Lincoln or Port Royal and Selinsgrove and hope the weather is nice and sunny, cause it has not been great the last several years.Plus take a trip by a Hoss's Steak House and get a very tasty Steak and a glass of Ice Tea.

good pt. on the WoO.

my ol man is kind of bailing on the Knoxville trip this year - his ol lady's full time job is spending his money. not very condusive budget for sprint car racing further than 5 miles.

middle of august? you gonna miss the Sprint Bandit shows? you should go to Lincoln - although I dont know much bout Port Royal - - - the races of lincoln i seen on the net look really good when the track is good. weird set up at that track -------- right there with houses off the back str8 and stuff.

in true form of the name you fashioned ------------ how many cars you think they will get for those PA shows? lol..... (u know it is a serious question).
