Petaluma,Ca July 5th

Richard Bailey couldn't have picked a more spectacular way to win his first career feature as the Hoosier Tire Civil War Race Series returned to Petaluma Speedway for the second time this season.
Bailey fought a loose race car in qualifying and timed in 11th quick out of the 37 car field aboard his Maxim/ASCS with Bailey Brothers horsepower.

Bailey finished 3rd in his heat to score a transfer into the main.Bailey started 3rd in the main behind track regulars Bradley Terrell and Alissa Geving and jumped into 2nd place on the first lap behind Terrell. The top 3 ran that way for the first 15 laps until a couple lapped cars spun directly in front of Bailey.

As Bailey lifted off the gas Geving did not have time to react and crashed into the back of Bailey ending her night and doing some damage to Bailey's car. That moved Kyle Larson up to 3rd and Sean Becker to 4th for the restart with Becker passing for 3rd on lap 18.Terrell continued to lead with Becker getting by Bailey for a moment on lap 24 but Bailey fought back and moved back to 2nd.The top 4 cars were all together as they approached heavy lapped traffic on lap 28 with Bailey on Terrell's bumper down the back stretch.

Bailey dove under Terrell getting into 3 and they raced side by side down the front stretch with a lapper in front of them with Terrell holding off Bailey through turns 1 and 2.With the crowd on their feet Bailey shot to the top in turns 3 and 4 and shot past Terrell and the lapped car getting by into turn 1 as Terrell got pinned in behind the lapped car and Becker and Larson also got by.
After the race Richard said"Bradley had a fast car tonight,he was better in the open but I think my car was better in traffic. It was also cool that we raced each other clean"
