Enid's $10,000 to Win for Modifieds Just Weeks Away

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - July 9, 2008 - Oklahoma City, Oklahoma - Just a few three short weeks remain until Enid Speedway Park in Enid, Oklahoma hosts their second $10,000 to win of the year, this one billed as the "2008 Modified Summer Nationals," to take place Friday through Sunday, August 1-3, 2008. Also in competition all three days will be limited modifieds paying $2500 to the Sunday afternoon feature finale winner.
Back earlier this year on March 30, Jeremy Payne of Batesville, Arkansas best a field of 73 drivers from 10 different states to win the fifty lap, $10,000 to win feature.
The format for the "2008 Modified Summer Nationals" will be quite different from that of the March event and will be the same as the very successful Street Stock Nationals. The format will consist of heat races, consolation features and full features on Friday and Saturday night with the top five from Friday night making up the inside row of Sunday afternoons feature. The top five from Saturday nights feature will make up the outside row of Sunday afternoons feature. Sunday afternoon will drivers compete in last chance qualifiers to fill out the balance of the twenty-four car field.

Sunday afternoons "B" feature will pay $500 to those drivers who make the start but do not transfer to the feature finale. The "C" feature will pay $250 to start for non-qualifiers only.

Entry fee is $250 for the modifieds and there is no discount for early entry. However, in order to reserve your car number, it is suggested to enter early as numbers will be available on a first come, first serve basis.

Limited modified entry fee is $150.

There will be an open practice session on Thursday night, July 31 at 7:00 PM. Friday and Saturday night action gets underway at 7:00 p.m. with pit gates opening at 3:00 p.m.. Pit gates will open at 11:00 a.m.on Sunday with racing slated to start at 2:00 p.m..
