Terrel wins going away for his 2nd A-main victory of 2008.
Terrel fastest car on track in main event. No real hard chargers as several sprinters move up 3 spots. Geving while not statistically a hard charger passes the most cars having to go the rear after bringing out the yellow on lap 1. Track improved as night wore on. Terrible shelf, rut in at the exit of (middle) turn 4 early in the evening was worked on several times to fill, flatten. It got better, but never went totally away.
A stout field of 17 wingless sprints were also racing tonight.. Heats were won by #40 of Darrel Hannestad and the #36 of Bob Newberry. Hannestad (from 9th starting) passed #41 David Press on lap 22 to take over the lead in the 25 lapper. Press had led all intital 21 laps from the pole. Hannestad took full advantage of lapped traffic to catch Press and then make the winning pass. Hannestad pulled away to the win after the only yellow of the race on lap #23. Close racing all over the track. Jason Macintosh finished 3rd from 11th starting. Former modified racer Geoff Ensign (in a recently purchased Terry Schank car) finished 12th in his 1st ever wingless start.
July 5th is all open wheel with Civil War (CCWSCS) and wingless spec sprints.
