FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - June 25, 2008 - Park City, Kansas - Officials with the O'Reilly/NCRA sprint car division announced today the addition to another race on the 2008 season schedule as the tour will make its third stop of the season atop the 3/8th mile 81 Speedway in Park City, Kansas on Saturday night, July 12. It will also be the next top on the O'Reilly/NCRA sprint car tour. This year has been one of the most competitive in recent years for NCRA's sprint division as six different drivers have reached victory lane in the six events held thus far. At the 81 Speedway venue, Mike Chadd of Lincoln, Nebraska and Derek Drown of Amarillo, Texas have both won features with an average car count of 28 for both events. Sprint car veteran Mike Peters of Wichita, Kansas currently sits atop the point standings holding a slim 20 point lead over Drown. C.J. Johnson currently sits 40 points out of first place in third position with Chadd and J..D. Johnson. The chase in the rookie point standings see Norman, Oklahoma's Koby Barksdale with a six point lead over Wichita's Cody Forshee. Ryan Kitchen and Steve Richardson sit 22 and 24 points back respectively. An added incentive for sprint car drivers in 2008 comes from three year series presenting sponsor ICM/Ethanol. All drivers competing with a 360 cu. inch motor, finishing in positions 16-20, will earn $400 to start the sprint car feature finale, up from $350 from last season. All 360 drivers not making the "A" feature will earn $150, up from $100 in previous seasons. The extra money provided through the incentive package presented by ICM / Ethanol will not be paid out at each race track, but will be mailed out from the NCRA offices in Park City, Kansas once official results are posted on the O'Reilly/NCRA web site. The National Championship Racing Association is entering it's 38th season of sanctioning dirt track races, this year in five different states in its sprint car, modified and late model divisions combined. The 2008 race season will see the series' sprint car division compete for the 19th consecutive year.
