They ran Pascar modifieds full show, and a vintage sprint/midget exhibition too. Oh yeah, and don't forget the dance contest.

Modifieds also ran with us which took awhile to run their main, they also ran the vintage cars a couple of times, had a red flag to try to fix the track because of very dusty conditions which lasted probably 20 to 30 minutes which turned out to be a waste of time since it was blowing dust again in about 5 or 6 laps. Also had their normal 20 to 30 minute intermission between running the vintage guys and the Usac main,I think it was about 9:30 or 9:45 before they even pushed the main event off.

Talked with Alan Ballard in the pits after the race. First off he is a very fine young man and I think he has a great future in sprint cars. He told us that he hit a rut or something in turn three and broke something on the car. He was hit by two cars following his spin out. The two other drivers probably didn't see him as the dust was really bad. Anyway its to bad because Ballard really had it going on in the early part of the race and we expected him to be challenging for the lead. He was real good last night (qualified 7th and second to Tony Jones in first heat). While talking with him you could tell that he loves racing. He mentioned their going to Calistoga also. Props to Mr. Stansberry and Mr. Bach for giving him a great race car last night. Also spoke with Nick Mitchell, father of driver Matt, and he stated they would be out to the PAS on a regular basis now that Matt has returned home to Southern California from college up north. What a great addition. And it would be wrong of me not to mention the great driving job turned in by Eric Severson, who seems to have caught everyone's attention lately.

One question why when everyone knows the weather conditions would you run the door slammers first, nothing against door slammers but one lap and spin 10 times gets a little old

good question grady. I think they tore up the track and so many yellows. It was not fun watching them and I left for the concession area to wait for my beloved sprinters. Though I do understand the economics of running another class, just to bad it wasn't the California Lightening Sprints.

Right on Rob! If the track is going to run Modifies they should run after the sprints.

The track had the time to rip and water, but not a thing was done!

Unfortunately, it's all about business decisions...The track management is in it for the $$$! They knew that if they ran the sprints BEFORE the mods, then the crowd would be gone after the race and nobody would be left in the stands, no one around to buy their beer, pizza and popcorn, etc. It is unfortunate that the weather and track dried out and it put a damper on the conditions of the track.

The way they ran it, they were hinging on the fact that y'all would have to stick around for the CRA "A" and fill up the concessions while you waited...which I am sure most did, including Triplecrwn...

Bottomline, they don't really care if you have to wait around...that's partly their job to fill it up with "entertainment", even if it is at YOUR EXPENSE!!!
