Civil War Series makes first ever appearance at Quincy’s American Valley Speedway

QUINCY, CA – Last Saturday they competed on California’s largest track in the annual Calistoga Cup and this week they will take to the second largest track in Northern California, the Hoosier Racing Tires Civil War Sprint Cars are bound for the high country as they make their debut at the American Valley Speedway in Quincy.
Saturday will mark the first time the traveling Civil War Series will appear at American Valley Speedway, a 3/8 mile dirt track surrounded by curtains of green forest land known as the scenic AmericanValley. The event will be the sixth event on the 15-race Civil War tour and many drivers will be looking to improve in the point standings after a disappointing weekend at Calistoga.
The upcoming Quincy event will host racing on Saturday and a pre-race practice session and racers barbecue on Friday evening. The pre-race event will allow drivers to test and tune on the track surface from to and then enjoy a complimentary Barbecue Dinner financed bySuperior Hydraulics, which is owned by veteran driver Mike Monahan.
Entering Satuday’s event, Sean Becker of Sacramento leads the series point standings. After a second place finish in Calistoga, Becker now sits 12-points ahead of former two time series champion David Robinson Jr. of Foresthill. Kyle Larson of Elk Grove is third in the ranks, the one time feature winner of 2008 is 20-points from the lead and is tied with defending four time series champion Andy Forsberg of Auburn.
Sacramento driver Willie Croftis fifth in the standings followed by Herman Klein of Sacramento, Colby Wiesz of Colfaz, Andy Gregg of Placerville, Mike Benson of Calistoga , Kyle Hirst of Loomis, Alissa Geving of Penngrove, former champion Greg DeCaires of Elk Grove and Myles Bishop of Escalon.
On Friday night, practice will begin at for competitors who will only be charged a $10 pit fee for the event. Practice will consist of four cars per session which will include six laps, allowing each competitor to participate in multiple sessions. On Saturday the grandstands will open at Adult admission will be $20, youth ages 13 to 17 will be $15 and kids 5 to 12 will be $10, under five will be admitted for free.
