Noticed last night those hawks that were swooping around during the Leep memorial service weren't just passing through. Looks like possibly two pairs are building nests in the fourth turn high wire tower and in one of the infield light standards. They've certainly moved a bunch of sticks up there, anyway. Wouldn't it be funny if the Fairgrounds tried to tear the place down and the Wildlife Preservation types wouldn't let them because it had become home to a protected species? Maybe SFS has acquired a mascot.......or maybe a totem.

The hawks have been there for a few weeks now. I had watched them go from the stands out to the center lights and sit there and watch the races. Pretty neat the noise, ect. hasn't bothered them and kept them from making that a new home.
