Yep. Alot of the Masters were there. Judi Bates, AJ Weaver (last years winner), Shane Carson, Tony Moro, TJ Giddings and Randy Smith really seemed to stand out from the rest. Frankie Heimbaugh got upside down hard early on, removed from the car and was transported to the hospital. I assume he was shaking the car down for his father, Mackie as I saw him in his firesuit getting the car ready to load up. Looked like the axle broke at the end of the nut on the left rear wheel towards the end of turn 2. One or two 305's were there. The only one I recognized was Marty Stephenson's #36.

Thanks for the update. I hope Heimbaugh is ok. Looks like maybe some rain there today?

The fantastic safety crew took a long time to get Frankie out of the car, we are hoping for nothing more than a little race track arthritis today, but looked real serious as the RR wheel came off and passed him.

One of the noisest accidents I remember at Knoxville, and what a way to wake up the new pit gat Security Officer lol

Good shot Dave, reminds my of a certain poster still on the wall of one suite owner.

Chad Huston was the other 305 there...

It was fun watching TJ Giddings and Randy Smith circle the track. Both haven't raced at Knoxville for awhile (1989 and 1997), but they didn't look like they missed a beat...

Bill, did you notice the retro paint on the 81 car with the Shady Oaks Steak House sponsorship.

Now that goes a long way back and is a nice tribute to the guy (RIP)that helped make TJ a Knoxville Hero

How I long for the days of Kendra and Connie at the awards banquet, 2 more beautiful women you will seldom see in the same room together outside of Hollywood.

The Masters sort of brings a tear to my eye longing for the "good old days"

Will they have enough 305's to race?

Only 6 or so on the Knoxville page, unless that is not up to date.

It does look like Sammy flipping the TMC car in the early 80's. I betcha they sold a ton of those posters in Knoxville.

Actually we barely broke even.. We had to get about 2500 or 3000 printed to get any kind of price.... Over the years we sent a print to every track in the Nation that run sprints making them deals to purchase for resale.....Stuff like that are pure gambles at best....But nothing ventured nothing gained..LOL!!

I would like to let everyone know that my brother Frankie is okay. He suffered a fractured t 3 vertabrae and they have a brace on him to keep his back straight so it will maybe heal without back surgery. He will have to go through physical therapy. My brother hopes on being back before the season is over, if everything goes well. We would like to thank everyone for all your prayers and support. It really means alot to Frankie. Thanks for the prayers and keep them coming.

They called it a compression fracture at the track but from what I know about those- too much- it sounds worse than that if a brace is involved. Get well soon!
