MTS Season Opener to Dalman
May 25, 2008 --- Gregg Dalman got around early leader Steve Irwin and drove to victory Sunday night in MTS series action at Crystal Motor Speedway. Dalman And Irwin were followed by Ryan Grubaugh, Joe Irwin and Mike Galadja.
Starting on the pole, Steve Irwin jumped out to the lead at the drop of the green and had what looked like a win at hand but 5th place starter Dalman would have none of it as he quickly began reeling in Irwin.
On the 6th lap Dalman pulled even and passed for the lead that he wouldn't give up and went on to capture the 20 lap feature as 2nd place finisher Irwin could not close the gap. Ryan Grubaugh, Joe Irwin and Mike Galadja rounded out the top five.
Steve Irwin, Joe Irwin and Gregg Dalman won heats.
During the 2nd heat race, the #33 of Bill Johnson and 1E of Jerry Evilsizer tangled in turn three and both cars flipped. The drivers were ininjured.
