After months of back and forth, on and off again frustration the USAC/CRA "LOUIE VERMEIL CLASSIC" is posted back on the Calistoga Speedway Schedule at http://www.napacountyfairgrounds.com/speedway.htm . Please do NOT call the fairgrounds for ticket info as that is being decided and handled by USAC and I will post the ticket info when it becomes available. You can call the fairgrounds for RV reservations at 707-942-5221. Louie's sons Stan, Al and Dick Vermeil are all planning an autograph session and wine tasting before the gates open for the first night of racing. Calistoga legends like Leroy Van Connett, Jimmy Boyd, and The Andersons are expected to attend. Plus the USAC stars of today like Kruseman, Jones, Spencer, Keading and Gardner. This is going to be the biggest event of the season, so don't miss it.

CAN'T WAIT!!! I'm taking my Dad,( he hasn't been to a Midget race since Balboa Stadium in San Diego as a kid in the 50's) my Bro and his Wife, and my Wife, for an unforgettable and FUN weekend! WOO HOO, PARTY ON!!!..........

Anyone know if the Sunday event will be day time or a regular night show as Saturday.

I would figure it would be a night time show. Shouldn't be any different than it was in the past with the Outlaws.

I was wondering the same thing Oakland sprint fan... they don't have the wing to block the sun on the back straight.. and the wing guys complain about it all the time so I would hope it would start a bit earlier then 6pm.. JMO!!!

Luckily the sun sets a little earlier that late in the year, plus you can run a visor on the front of the cage just like they use to.
