Heading down to the Indy 500 for the first time.  Are there any Sprint Car races dirt preferred on Saturday?  If so, where?

Thanks,

Tim

Tim,

North Vernon has 1500 to win sprints, Putnamville has 1200 to win sprints, and Paragon has a regular show. Have been to many tracks in Indiana but none of these. After speaking to a friend of mine from Indiana, Paragon would be the last resort, although my older brother thinks it's a good show. He is a fan of the fenders though. Go Friday night and check out either Gas City or Bloomington. You can't go wrong with either.

If you would like to see something really cool, Anderson Speedway has the Little 500 on Sat. night. 33 sprint cars for 500 laps on a high banked 1/4 mile track. Pit stops and fast action. I went 2 years ago and had a ball. Just another option. Hope you have a fun and dry weekend!

Thanks, I really appreciate the info. Weather forecast:

Sunday and Sunday Night
Mostly clear. Highs around 80. Lows around 60.
Gotta charge up the camera batteries. It's going to be a great one.

We're leaving as soon as I post this.

Our plan:

Friday AM - Indy Lights @ IMS

Friday Night - USAC Silver Crowns @ The Inidiana State Fairgrounds Dirt Mile

Saturday AM - Big Memorabilia Show @ the Fairgrounds

Saturday Night - KISS Sprints @ Lawrenceburg (This is Indiana's best non-USAC series)

Sunday day - Indy 500

Sunday Night - NRA winged Sprints @ Eldora

Call me if you have questions: Steiny @ 612-590-1324

So where did you end up going on Saturday night, Steiny? That KISS race at Lawrenceburg is the bomb, too bad they don't have the track ready yet. Last race I saw there was one of the best ever.

Well, after Friday rained out, we did the Memorabilia Show.

Saturday, we did the Indy Lights and went to North Vernon. The KISS show was moved there since Lawrenceburg hasn't opened yet.

Sunday, we did the 500. As soon as the Checkered flew, we flew for the truck & sped to Eldora for a great Sprint & Late Model show.

Sadly, the Silver Crown race will not be rescheduled. This is the second straight year that "Rainman" was the victor at my favorite event. Now all I can do is wait for Terre Haute, Springfield & DuQuoin!

How was your trip?
